killamch89 Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 Toxic behavior in online games can ruin the experience for everyone, but do the current penalties go far enough? Some games issue temporary bans, but should we be doing more to curb this behavior? Would harsher punishments like permanent bans or stricter reporting systems help maintain a healthier community, or would it create more problems? What are your thoughts on striking the right balance between punishing toxic players and ensuring fairness for those who make mistakes?
Scorpion Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 Toxic behavior harms gaming communities, but penalties must be balanced. While harsher punishments deter abuse, leniency is essential for growth.
killamch89 Posted January 15, 2025 Author Posted January 15, 2025 I think harsher penalties, like longer bans or even permanent ones for repeat offenders, could help reduce toxicity. However, the key is to pair it with tools like mute options or better education for players on acceptable behavior. Prevention can be as powerful as punishment.
GameOn Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 I believe that permanent bans are needed as well as more strict reporting measures should also be put in place. Temporary restriction measures are too often and I still think that they are insufficient to send a signal to criminals.

I mean, permanent bans won't do much if said player has a VPN and can change up their systems configuration. They'll just create another account and continue with their nonsense.
