GameOn Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 With each year, it is easier to realize that many of the games we knew and loved in childhood are becoming unavailable simply because of technology. How can an effort be made in order to preserve these games? Are re-releases the answer, or are there perhaps better options ? What’s your opinion on how to prevent those games from being lost?
Scorpion Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 To preserve beloved childhood games, enhancing digital archiving efforts and supporting community-driven emulation projects may be more effective than mere re-releases.
killamch89 Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 Preserving classic games might require embracing emulation and open-source projects. Organizations like the Internet Archive and fan communities are doing incredible work in this space. But I also think physical preservation is just as important. Libraries or museums dedicated to gaming history could archive hardware and games.
Kennysplash Posted January 30, 2025 Posted January 30, 2025 There is no other way than playing them more, is there. Maybe when others see how we like them they will be inclined to try it out as well.
