killamch89
You just got a fresh GPU - now what? Do you benchmark with synthetic tools first, then dive into demanding AAA titles, monitor frame-times, or stress-test GPUs with specific scenes? How do you balance resolution, fidelity, and framerate targets? What metrics (FPS, frametime variance, thermal throttling) do you prioritize? Scorpion
When testing game performance on new hardware, I start with benchmarking tools to assess frame rates and stability. I then run multiple games at different settings, noting any issues. This helps me optimize settings and ensure smooth gameplay across various titles. killamch89
Personally, I maintain a consistent testing suite of five games that I'm very familiar with, spanning different engines and eras. This let me compare new hardware against my previous system with games I know intimately. I also leave all background applications running as I would during normal use rather than creating an artificial testing environment.
