Gender stereotypes is commonly heard in the industry. It seems that most video game players are male. Why do boys like video games more than girls do?

I think the stereotype is breaking down rapidly - many of my female friends game just as much as guys, they just prefer different genres or platforms sometimes. Mobile gaming has really expanded the audience.
