killamch89 Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 Many games include mini‑games that have you defending an objective against waves of enemies with tower defense, turret sections, or special horde modes. On PS5, titles like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, God of War Ragnarök, and Returnal incorporate memorable defender segments. Which PS5 mini‑game where you hold the line is your go‑to? What mechanics did it introduce - upgradable turrets, elemental combos, or co‑op synergy? How did it break up the main campaign’s pacing, and did you ever return for fun challenge runs after beating the story?
Scorpion Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 My favorite PS5 defender-style mini-game is "Guardians of the Galaxy." Its fast-paced gameplay and strategic defense mechanics keep me engaged, making it a fun and challenging experience. I love the mix of action and teamwork in defending against waves of enemies.
killamch89 Posted July 3, 2025 Author Posted July 3, 2025 (edited) Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s assault drones on Savali are pure joy. You pilot a hovering turret, tag enemies with your wrench-shot and let the auto-cannons mow them down. Mechanics: Swap between cryo, electric and fire rounds on the fly—each element spawns different status effects. You can also crank up turret stats via Bolts. Pacing break: They interrupt the story right when it’d otherwise get too narrative-heavy, giving you that classic R&C shoot-’em-up breather. Challenge runs: I replay them with a strict “no-upgrades” run to see how long I survive on default DPS alone. Edited July 3, 2025 by killamch89
