Fallout 76 Side Quests: How to Complete Prototypical Problems

The Fallout 76 Prototypical Problems side quest is one of three which you’ll acquire when you take on the Novice of Mysteries quest. To continue the Order of Mysteries faction quest-line, you need to craft three different items. Each of these comprises its own quest; Chasing Shadows for the Phantom Device, Forging a Legend for the Blade of Bastet, and Prototypical Problems for the Voice of Set.

How to Complete the Fallout 76 Prototypical Problems Side Quest

To start the Fallout 76 Prototypical Problems side quest, you first need to listen to the “Order of Mysteries – Voice of Set” Holotape, which you acquire during Novice of Mysteries. Doing so will start the quest. Just as with Chasing Shadows and Forging a Legend, you then need to use Cryptos to learn what you’ll need to make the Voice of Set. In this case, what you need to find is an EMP Research Program, which is located at Sugar Grove.

Fallout 76 Prototypical Problems Locations

Sugar Grove is a sizeable ruin filled with either robots or super mutants, and can be found in the Savage Divide. The minimum recommended level for the area is 15. Once you access the building, search for an Advanced Research Terminal. This device has a number of blank holotapes scattered around it; a clue as to the problem you’ll have to overcome. Use the terminal to read the reports and messages; you’ll quickly discover that you can’t simply copy the data onto a holotape.

Another terminal in Sugar Grove will now be marked by the quest. This analyst’s terminal can be used to acquire a Project SIPHON Holotape. This can be used on the first terminal to download a copy of the EMP Research Program data. With the data in hand, you can return to Riverside Manor. Here, you can put the holotape into the Fabricator and then select the “Play Holotape” option. Once this is done, choose “Fabrication Services” and craft the Voice of Set.
