or example mixing DDR3 with DDR4,

i'm aware of that actually, also both of the same sticks got to have the same speed (both has to be 1333mhz in my case), also my motherboard as well as the cpu support up to 288 GB's ! (as i'm using a server CPU for gaming, pretty decent budget gaming pc!)

You wont feel much difference except for the part that AMD is lot good for gaming.

not really, it was a thing before like 2-3 years back when : if you wanted good gaming performance + decent workstation performance = go for ryzen

wanted decent gaming performance + good workstation performance = go for intel

things are sort of different now and both of the companies are fighting for the price/performance

I think if the price is not issue switching to 16GB would be a good idea.. you never know how much demanding Win 11 and 12 in near future could be..

wanted to do that already 😄 but the issue is that my Mobo has only 2 ram slots and they are both taken, so the less costing solution would be buying a 8gb stick and keeping one of those 2 4GB's sticks, so that would be 12 GB in total, still a boost in some modern games.

How much is 8GB RAM now?

in terms of price? no idea, really depends on the location, took a look on aliexpress and saw that they are still sort of expensive

in terms of performance? they are actually more than fine for me as i never had an issue playing games that 'i want' on high settings

  5. depends on the platform honestly, i played GTA V on PS4 for a short while and the capped 30 fps looked completely fine for me as it was stable and smoother than in PC even if im used to play on 60 on PC, i also completed Resident Evil 4 (the original) on PC and it was locked to 30 fps by default and didn't even feel that it was stuttering at all, so stable frametimes is the key!

  6. Is anyone familiar with the series?

I played it first back in around 2012, it was like an alternative solution for me to play something like GTA on my phone, as i had a pentium 4 back then that could only play GTA SA (hardly).

First one i played was Gangstar West Coast Hustler on my Galaxy Mini S5570 and it was so cool!

  7. Xeon X5670 + Huananzhi X58 and generic cpu cooler = CPU + MOBO + CPU Cooler = 120$ (it's a combo from Aliexpress)

AMD XFX RX 480 4GB = GPU (back when prices were normal) = 120$

    550W PSU (i don't remember the brand, i will post it later) = 55$

8 GB DDR3 1333mhz i got them from my previous prebuilt PC

    it's around 300 bucks

I think if the gameplay had continued to evolve, it'd have been a viable competitor to GTA. Unfortunately, it became quite a dated series.

it was actually replaced by Watch Dogs (which is far away from being a GTA competitor as the hacking thingy was always weird for me)

Yes only thing is that Apple chips are now homegrown and they are as good as i7 and i9 and even competing with Ryzen lately. Which makes them still the option for industries like sound, video and other 3D based work etc. because unlike windows they have pretty good apps for those sectors.

Ryzen isn't the top tier anymore, since even newer gen i3's are competing with em 😛

In some context yes, but who is making games for them and people have money to play and burn the device up by playing like we do on console and PC.

Apple is too expensive to wear it out like we do with PC and Console. It's like buying those expensive BMW cars and not driving them to make them antique, even if they can run in race.

well that's it actually, you can get a normal gaming pc for less price and better performance in some cases, at the end, what matters is the price/performance and not the brand name
