People did not get offended by everything is a huge one that comes to mind. Also no one was able to call out crappy people and their behavior 20 years ago on the Internet. Also yeah, people enjoyed physically meeting over Zoom, Skype, etc. Also another thing that comes to mind is Taco Bell actually had like an actual $1 menu or under a $1, same with McDonald's.

I'd have to say talking to myself as someone else said. I also somewhat enjoy still watching anime and reading manga. I've been judged by people for liking anime/manga by others online and even sometimes IRL. Also yeah, even judged for playing VNs. None of the ones I played were lewd, naughty, or whatever. Sometimes yeah, but not always the case! I play Otome ones, and to a lesser extent BL/Yaoi VNs. I learned to ignore the haters and like what you like.

With how much the Internet has changed, I've also noticed more PM style replies and stuff to things on forums. What we used to do back in the old days was to make a 'chat thread' where PM style replies could go. People talked about whatever they wanted be it games, anime, etc.
