Superstar Tom Hanks and actress wife Rita Wilson have confirmed they’ve tested positive for Coronavirus.

Hanks is in Australia where he’s been shooting Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic, playing the role of Col. Tom Parker.

“We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches,” the 63 year-old actor said in a statement. “Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers, too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”

Production on the film, which stars Austin Butler as the King, was due to begin production on Monday.

Australia has had more than 120 cases confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Hanks arrived on the Gold Coast on January 26 and was rumoured to be staying at the same hotel – Peppers Broadbeach — where a Chinese national who was one of Australia’s first coronavirus cases was staying.

The film, based at Oxenford Studio on the northern Gold Coast,  won’t be headed for its shoot until things improve. In a letter to crew and actors this morning, Baz Luhrmann said a crew member had tested positive for the virus and asked everyone to stay home.

“All work activity on the production is cancelled and will not resume until further notice. We appreciate everyone’s co-operation and we will be following up with more details over the next several hours.”

Ars Technica is reporting through multiple sources that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) will cancel this year's E3 trade show in Los Angeles.

The website was informed last night, and shortly after Ars was tipped off publisher Devolver tweeted: "Cancel your E3 Flights and hotels, y'all."

Later, Bloomberg ran a story that included that the official cancelation announcement from the ESA will happen today, March 11, at 9:30 a.m. Pacific according to "a person familiar with the matter."

Bloomberg is further reporting that the ESA has sent a private memo to partners that says it is considering holding E3 as an online event this summer.

If E3 is indeed canceled, it would be the latest domino to fall in a chain of events created by the coronavirus that has caused game delays, companies sending workers home, and the postponement of GDC from this month, among other disruptions.

  3. The first season premiered today and I watched the first episode so far. Seems interesting but I'm hoping it doesn't stay the same course as Haunting of Hill House. Anyone else plan on watching?

  4. Comedy like that can be funny but the rules have defintely changed. I feel like a white comedian making jokes about other races would be considered off limits while white people seem to be the punching bag of another's set

  5. Just saying theyre the best team ever isn't a fact, because no facts were provided....and if we're going off of how many championships a team has won...that goes to the Canadiens in which that makes them the best hockey team ever.
