Epic Games: Free Games with Epic Update Thread

This is awesome! I'm excited that you decided to create this thread. I'm a fan of Epic Games, but I'm not too involved with their news or game freebies. This is a big help, thank you for sharing and keeping us updated.

A quick note on the upcoming games. I was sure I had played Jotun: Valhalla Edition on Epic Games before. So I had a look at my liberty and, would you believe it, the game is already in my library.

The latest snip I took from EGS;

 

 

And a snip of my library on EGS. And no, I didn't buy the game, I'd remember that. The only reason it would be here is if it had been offered up before as a free game;

 

 

What the hell Epic? Did you run out of games or something? Don't et me wrong, it's not that big of a deal, I'm not one to bite the hand that feeds, but I'm just a little concerned that Epic are not being 100% honest here.

It turns out that Prey has also already been on offer for free at some point as well. So 2 of the three games this week have already been free at some point though Epic.

Epic have really been treating us. First Borderlands 3 now the Bioshock Collection.

Another big hitter from EGS is free now. Maneater, an RPG where you play as a killer shark. I doubt you need further convincing.

The free games have been good recently, but there's a bit of a trend starting to happen that I don't like.

 

 

For this week and next week, DLC packs for games that look like FTP mobile trash that apparently cost $100+ to buy are being offered instead of games. I don't see that value in this at all. The only reason these "packages" are so expensive is because that's what the greedy ass publishers behind these games decided to charge, there is no way they are worth that much to anyone I hope this is not what we'll typically see with this going forward. I understand they're not gonna come through with a big AAA heavyweight every time, but this pretty poor. Hopefully Wonder Boy and Tannenberg will pick up the slack.

It's been another one of those days that make me think Epic are trying to annoy me with a game preview that keeps changing. Still, the line up for this week and next week looks locked in now and it looks solid.

Thanks for keeping this thread going. It's always tough to remember to check in on Epic. I'm in Steam way more often. Even though Epic has some really choice games available.

It appears Epic have moved into thier festive period when it come to free games. Thus, this thread will for updated once every 24 hours as that is the time limit to claim free games. If you have an Epic Games account, claim these games as soon as possible to avoid loosing out.

Remember, Epic's "15 days of Christmass" is still going on, so be sure to check either this thread or your Epic Store launcher to claim the daily freebies.

Sorry I was a little late on updating this today, but it's a good one. Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics are all free on EGS until tomorrow.

I had held off on updating this in the hope Epic would reveal something slightly more interesting than some free DLC pack for The Sims 4 in the upcoming games, but apparently that was in vain. S0, here it is.

And it hasn't gotten any better. Not only is that lame DLC for the Sims 4 the only thing on offer, we don't even know what's coming next. Still, here it is.
