DanTheGamer Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Over the years it seems to have become abundantly clear that the vast majority of the AAA games that get released now are pure money grab games. You could shill out upwards of $70 USD easy on a game and then still be expected to purchase in-game items. The only game super recently that I have heard did this well was Elden Ring.
Yarik Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 I've played a couple of AAA games. They're usually cheaper than than "freemium" games that come out. If the game is free to play, it's most likely to be fed up with microtransactions. If you don't spend, you'll be far behind.
Scorpion Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Absolutely, they often feel repetitive or overly monetized. Indie games now offer more creativity and originality, which keeps things fresh.
GameOn Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 I share your frustration. In my opinion, AAA, instead of creating unique games, aims to earn money and, therefore, offers numerous bad games with a lot of problems. I can only think of two games, Elden Ring and The Last of Us Part II, which are exceptional

Games like Hollow Knight, Hyper Light Drifter and Celeste are far more enjoyable than many big budget games. Independent games are not necessarily a money-making business; they are made with passion, which makes them much more interesting to play.
killamch89 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I'm fed up with the majority of them. Most of them are so generic, boring and lacklustre that I'd rather watch paint dry than sit there and play these atrocities of a AAA game.
