Game genres you were surprised to realize you enjoy?

Are there any genres of games you thought you would dislike, but ended up really loving?

I can definitely not forget the first time I played a simulation game. I thought that it's going to be so boring. But this game got me hooked from the very start.

I initially thought I’d dislike rhythm games, but they’ve become a favorite. The challenge and fun keep me coming back!

I bought Persona 5, really not knowing if it was my type of game. Neither the turn based combat or the visual novel style storytelling really appealed to me, but I really loved the art style, so I decided to give it a shot. Turned out I absolutely loved it. The combat is actually very good, and I really fell in love with the characters.

 I first did actually excluded simulation games but they became my favorite series later on and I do enjoy playing Stardew Valley.
