killamch89
With the rapid advancements in VR technology, it seems like it's only a matter of time before it becomes a mainstream medium for all kinds of entertainment, from gaming to movies to social experiences. What do you think needs to happen for VR to be widely adopted?
Shortie
I will admit, I am actually surprised that we are now using VR for more social experiences yet. I know with VR at the moment there is the option to do some things such as I believe YouTube is available and I heard that Netflix may be as well so that is a start. I would say with the way things are developing, we could be a few years to maybe 5 years away from seeing advancements in VR technology giving users the ability to use VR for more than just gaming. Scorpion
Mainstream VR is coming, but widespread adoption for all entertainment types is still years away. Cost, accessibility, and content variety need significant improvements before it's commonplace.
killamch89
VR will never completely replace traditional entertainment formats but will become a mainstream option within 3 years. The crucial metric isn't replacing TVs but achieving 100+ million regular users. Meta's Quest 3 sales trajectory suggests we're approaching the inflection point where network effects accelerate adoption, similar to smartphones around 2010.
