With the rise of pop influences, slick production, and mainstream appeal, has the genre strayed too far from its traditional storytelling and simple melodies? Or is this just a natural progression for country music?

I grew up on a farm and the music talked about things I knew. Now, however, it’s nothing more than another pop genre. killamch89 1

I agree and you could say that for pretty much every genre of music at this moment. They've all lost their authenticity and turned into commercialized pop genres.
