Which retro game got the best soundtrack?

One thing with most retro games is that they have those special soundtracks that make it difficult to even pick one out of all that are good. We've had a lot of retro games that got great soundtracks such as Streets of Rage 2, Sonic the Hedgehog, and a host of others.

 

Which one would you pick from most retro games you've played to have the best soundtracks?

It's tough to choose, but I’d go with the soundtrack from "Sonic the Hedgehog." The upbeat music perfectly matched the game's fast-paced action and memorable levels. Each track really adds to the nostalgia and makes playing it a joy.

Streets of Rage 2 delivered a techno/house soundtrack that not only perfectly matched the action but legitimately stood on its own as great music. Yuzo Koshiro was creating EDM bangers that could've played in clubs, completely transcending what game music was expected to be.
