Games you regretted buying, what went wrong?

Buying games comes with the expectation that you are definitely going to get value for money. I believe that is the reason a lot of people would always want to buy games. However, I know that there are some games that didn't live up to expectations. Have you purchased such a game recently? What was the displeasure with that kind of purchase?

I recently bought a game that didn’t meet my expectations. It had a lot of bugs and lacked the features promised. I felt disappointed because I was excited to play, but it just didn’t deliver the fun I anticipated.

Gotham Knights was my biggest letdown. After the Arkham series set such a high bar for Batman games, this felt like a massive step backward in combat fluidity, detective mechanics, and overall polish. The co-op feature wasn't enough to justify the compromises.
