killamch89 Posted April 22 Share Posted April 22 I'm comfortable with extreme bleakness provided it serves a meaningful artistic purpose rather than just shock value. Games like SOMA or This War of Mine use their grim settings to explore complex philosophical questions about consciousness or moral compromise in ways that feel justified despite their emotional weight. I do know for some people grim or bleak games are a no-go due to how it makes them feel, I would probably be the same but I check before I play any games that seem to be quite grim or bleak so that I know.
