Would the gaming industry benefit from more unionized studios?

We don't tend to see it too often but every so often, we see video game studios unionize. In many cases this can be better for all the video game studios that are involved but there are time when it may not be beneficial. 

What are your thoughts on unionized studios, does the gaming industry benefit from it?
