Shortie Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 We don't tend to see it too often but every so often, we see video game studios unionize. In many cases this can be better for all the video game studios that are involved but there are time when it may not be beneficial. What are your thoughts on unionized studios, does the gaming industry benefit from it?
killamch89 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 The gaming industry would definitely benefit from unionization to address widespread issues like crunch culture, job insecurity between projects, and sudden studio closures. Workers deserve protection from the boom-bust cycles that have become normalized, allowing creative talent to thrive without burnout.
Scorpion Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 Yes, the gaming industry could benefit from more unionized studios by promoting fair wages, better working conditions, and job security. This can lead to healthier work environments, increased creativity, and higher quality games, ultimately benefiting developers and players alike.
