Which indie game’s unconventional control scheme challenged you in a delightful way? Think Baba Is You’s command manipulation or Octodad’s awkward tentacle physics? How quickly did you adapt, and did the controls enhance or detract from the core experience?

One indie game that challenged me with its unconventional controls is "Celeste." The precise and unique movement mechanics pushed me to improve my skills and adapt my approach, making the experience both challenging and rewarding in a really satisfying way.

One indie game that came to mind pretty much straight away when I saw this thread was Getting Over it with Bennet Foddy. This game takes careful and precise movement when it comes to swinging the hammer to make it to the next available place on the game.

Falling was so stressful and rage is very much a thing with this game.

QWOP's ridiculous running controls are pure comedic genius that turns failure into entertainment. Sometimes unconventional controls work because they're intentionally bad in ways that create unexpected joy through shared struggle.
