Shortie Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 I am always hearing people say to others "You should play a specific mobile game, I play it and the game is awesome" and all too often, they will give it a try but can not see what all the hype was about. This can sometimes be frustrating for those who chose to check out a game based on a friend or family members feedback and it was not as great as they thought it would be. What mobile game have you played that you felt was overhyped?
Scorpion Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 The most overhyped mobile game I've played is "Clash of Clans." While fun at first, it felt repetitive after a while, and the constant in-app purchases can be frustrating. Expectations were high, but the gameplay didn't quite live up to the hype for me.
killamch89 Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Genshin Impact felt overhyped to me despite its obvious quality - everyone praised it as "console-quality mobile gaming," but the gacha mechanics and energy systems made it feel more like a beautiful slot machine than a traditional RPG. The production values are undeniable, but the monetization strategy was too aggressive for my taste.
