The Blackangel Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 I'm sitting here waiting for an update to finish while my Xbox sets up. But I had one question. When starting the machine up I got to the screen where the Xbox was in back and the controller in the foreground with the green circle bouncing around the Xbox button. I tried several times to get it to go to the next screen but it did nothing. I tried new batteries, and hitting the sync button nothing. My last ditch idea was to connect it physically to the machine through a USB port. Lo and behold, that worked. But I'm wondering, did anyone else have to physically connect their controller? The machine is less than 2' away from me, so it's not like it was a real hassle of any kind. But I'm wondering because I want to know if I'm going to have to keep the controller plugged in to play, or if the wireless abilities are going to even be available since I had to go this route.
Crazycrab Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I thinks it's becuase somtimes the update overwites the part of the system software that effects peripherals including controllers, so they need to be reconneted physically to register. I've seen this happen on the PlayStation 4 as well.
