Rumors - Half-Life 3 is being Playtested Ahead of a Possible Summer Reveal
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
People need to get over the fact Half Life 3 is NEVER going to happen. Valve print money through Steam and they know that. It makes no sense from a business standpoint to make games anymore. It's a stretch to even call Valve a game developer at this point. Even if I'm wrong and these rumours turn out to be true, the Half Life fanbase has so hyped a game that doesn't exist that it would be almost impossible for Valve to make Half Life 3 and not disappoint eveyone. It would be like bringing Michel Jackson back to life to tour the world only for him to sit on stage and talk about the weather. Put it simply, Half Life 3 can't be justified. It's a waste of people's hope and the sooner everyone just accepts the loss the better. -
These are just rumors, so don't expect this to be true. I am having a hard time beliving it, but have hopes we're actually getting a Half-Life 3. I'm still dreaming, but maybe that dream is here. Anyway, it's alleged that Half-Life 3 is currently being playtested, with a possible reveal happening in the summer sometime and may even see a winter release. Rumos also say it's playable from beginning to end, so sounds like it may be finished. I guess the rumor stems from a project called HLX, which is being playtested. Some think this to be the Half-Life sequel they've all been waiting for. You can find more on this news here: https://wccftech.com/half-life-3-playtested-summer-reveal/ But who knows if this will turn out to be true. I'm sure we've all heard numerous rumors throughout the years, and yet nothing has come to fruition just yet. But I will be keeping an eye out at game shows and events this summer for a reveal.

So it seems the tariffs in the US are really started to take hold, as Xbox consoles, controllers and even games are expected to go up by as much as 25%. It's being said that there will be an $80-$100 price increase on current gen Xbox consoles. So $80 increase for the Series S and $100 for Series X. I believe recently PS5 console prices also went up, so it seems we're going to be paying a premium for gaming for the time being. Unless this tariff nonsense ends soon, which I don't see happening. Are you worried pricing will continue to go up? Or could we see prices drop again in the near future? My favorite game that challenges conventional design is "Journey." Its emphasis on emotion, exploration, and minimalistic storytelling breaks traditional gameplay norms, creating a unique, immersive experience that focuses on connection and discovery rather than typical objectives or competition.
