What game do you think was criminally underrated?
killamch89 replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming Forum
One game I always bring up when this topic comes up is Spec Ops: The Line. It had a brilliant narrative and a really bold take on modern warfare themes, but it didn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserved when it released. -
What's Your Favorite Way to Level Up or Upgrade in a Game?
killamch89 replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming Forum
For me, Skill trees are my favorite way to level up. The customization and planning of how I want to build my character always excites me. It’s like crafting my own unique playstyle, and I love seeing how my choices affect my gameplay down the line. -
Which game do you think is the best example of art in video games?
killamch89 replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming Forum
For me, The Last of Us series represents video games as art. The attention to detail in world-building, the emotional depth of its characters, and the storytelling are unparalleled. It’s like playing through a beautifully crafted film that also allows you to engage with its themes on a deeper level. -
Do You Prefer Games with Complex Mechanics or Simple Gameplay Loops?
killamch89 replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming Forum
Personally, I lean toward complex mechanics, but I don't mind simpler games now and then. For example, I really enjoy RPGs with a lot of depth and strategic decision-making. Games with intricate systems tend to feel more rewarding in the long run, but sometimes I appreciate a good arcade-style game where I don't have to think too hard. -
I enjoy multiplayer games as much as the next person, but requiring an internet connection for single-player experiences feels like a step back. It limits accessibility for people who don’t have stable internet or those who prefer to play offline. Even some modern single-player games can feel incomplete without the option to play solo without being tethered to the web, and I think this trend takes away from the traditional appeal of gaming.

Naruto's knack for forgetting very important stuff at key times is hilarious.

Played some Skyrim today and was re-doing my female Druid build and I think I've made her way too busted, lol. She's so busted that she can kill characters who are essential, can revive characters completely from ashes, can remove Vampirism from an NPC. Can make other characters immortal for a period of time. I just knew I'd eventually go too far.

We all have that one game that flew under the radar or didn't get the love it deserved. Whether it was overshadowed by bigger titles, released at the wrong time, or simply didn’t get enough marketing, which game do you think was criminally underrated?

What's Your Favorite Way to Level Up or Upgrade in a Game?
killamch89 posted a topic in Gaming Forum
Everyone has their own preferred way to progress in games. Do you like grinding to level up through combat and quests, or do you prefer unlocking new abilities and gear through exploration? Maybe you're a fan of skill trees or the satisfaction of finding rare items to upgrade your character? -
Video games are often seen as entertainment, but some truly transcend that to become works of art. Whether it’s through visual design, storytelling, music, or the overall experience, some games leave a lasting impact that goes beyond gameplay. What game do you think best represents the artistic potential of video games?

Do you think games that require a constant internet connection are a necessary evolution in the gaming industry, or do they take away from the experience? With games like Destiny and The Division relying on online connectivity, some argue it enhances multiplayer and live-service features. Others feel it limits accessibility, especially for those with unreliable internet or those who enjoy solo offline experiences. Where do you stand on this debate? Do you embrace it, or do you wish for more offline options?

Before streaming services became dominant, the Xbox 360 and original Xbox were great for playing music and movies. Whether through DVDs, CDs, or downloadable content, many gamers used their consoles as media hubs. Did you ever take advantage of this feature? What media did you store or stream, and how was the experience? Did it make your Xbox more of an all-in-one entertainment system for you?

I’ve been using Xbox Live Party Chat for years, but I’m curious about other people's experiences. Do you think it’s a good way to stay connected with friends while gaming? How does it compare to other voice chat options like Discord or PlayStation Party Chat? I personally like the ease of it, but I’ve also had my share of technical glitches. Anyone else?

I’ve been debating between Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus lately, and I'm curious about what stands out in Xbox Game Pass. I know it offers access to a huge library of games for a monthly fee, but how does it compare in terms of value, game variety, and features like cloud gaming? Are there any key advantages that make Game Pass the better choice for gamers over PlayStation Plus?

With Xbox Game Pass becoming a major selling point for the platform, do you think Microsoft should offer more exclusive deals or bundles with Game Pass subscriptions? Whether it's discounts on hardware, special in-game content, or even limited-edition bundles, would these incentives attract more subscribers or make the service more appealing?

I’m curious if anyone has used the Xbox Game Pass "family sharing" option to share games with others. How easy was it to set up? Did you encounter any issues with access or game availability? I’ve been considering it, but I’m not sure how smooth the experience is across multiple users.

There are so many cool Joy-Con colors out there, but which one is your favorite? Do you prefer the classic neon blue and red combo, or are you into more unique pairings like the pastel purple and orange? Maybe you’ve customized your own set?
