What games have the most continuity issues and/or retcons in their series?

What games have you played where you have spotted a large number of continuity issues with respect to other instalments in the same series? We could also discuss retcons here, which I don’t see as the same thing really, but I can see where it might overlap a bit.

Not sure. Maybe gta from the original top down to the 3d games? Not sure. The 3d games mostly keep ties together, but idk about the original games. 

I'm sure there are a lot of games with reasons and changes that don't make sense. But i don't usually get that invested in the story to the point where I see the problems like that.

How about what's going on with Resident Evil Remakes from Capcom. It's literally obvious they don't know exactly how to go about it.
