There are some who do it only once while some do it two or three times depending on how many times they eat. How do you go with your teeth after eating? My mother finds it very awkward to eat without brushing first. So, she brushes before and after eating her meal. I think it's too much pressure for the teeth and gum. I believe that it is very important for you to brush h at least twice in a day especially before going to bed because it's going to make your mouth to feel fresh whenever you woke up in the morning.
