Knight Barida Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 There was a time when players played the natural way without having to learn one or two. Nowadays, a lot of things have changed, and it makes me wonder why it is so. Do you think that having specialists such as penalty kick specialists, corner kick specialists, and others have made the game look more boring? charlesfoote 1
killamch89 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Not really. It's kind of always been that way - the players with a certain skillset will be best utilized in a certain position that maximizes those skillsets. It's basically the same across many other sports.
Ja sa bong Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 No, I don't think. Even if you're so talented as a footballer, you still need to train in order to have match sharpness. This is very important for all managers.

It is the reason why managers doesn't want players who are lazy in their team. This is because there is no way such players are going to get better and contribute 100% in matches they play.

It's only special players like Messi who are blessed with the skills that doesn't need to train so much. Even Pep Guardiola said it when he was managing Barcelona with Messi in the team.

This is good. I asked because what will happen when a penalty specialist begins to miss penalties with ease? Are we going to remove the tag that he is very good with taking such kicks?

Even Cristiano Ronaldo have missed penalties. Messi too have also missed penalties too. No player is above missing penalties. It's why I was pissed at how Ademola Lookman was hanged out to dry by his coach because he missed a pk.
