killamch89 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 With Microsoft's growing investment in cloud gaming, do you think the company will eventually phase out traditional consoles like Xbox and focus exclusively on cloud gaming? Considering their push with Game Pass and the acquisition of gaming studios, it seems like cloud gaming might be the future for them. What are your thoughts? Will they eventually move away from hardware or continue to balance both?
Scorpion Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 While cloud gaming is a priority, I believe Microsoft will maintain a balance between hardware and cloud services for broader accessibility.
killamch89 Posted February 4, 2025 Author Posted February 4, 2025 I believe Microsoft might eventually shift more towards cloud gaming as the technology improves. The convenience of playing anywhere without needing expensive hardware is a significant advantage. However, it will probably take time for cloud gaming to fully replace traditional consoles, as there are still technical hurdles to overcome.
Shortie Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 Whilst cloud gaming is becoming popular, I still feel that there is a lot of work to be done before it can become the only way to play online. Since the release of cloud gaming with Xbox, I have noticed a huge difference in stability but for them to move solely to cloud gaming, a lot more would need to be done to make it stable enough that it would not have constant issues.
