killamch89 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Nintendo games are known for hiding fun and quirky Easter eggs. Whether it’s a hidden reference to another game, a secret character, or a playful nod to the past, these surprises always make us smile. What’s your favorite Nintendo Easter egg, and what made it so memorable? Was it a secret level in Super Mario 64, a reference in Zelda, or something else entirely?
The Blackangel Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) The whole Chris Houlihan mystery in The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past on SNES is by far my favorite. Not only is it a completely hidden treasure but it leaves the mystery of who (or what) Chris Houlihan is or means. There have been gamers offering theories, but nothing has ever been confirmed by Nintendo. Or denied for that matter. Edited December 26, 2024 by The Blackangel

For me, It's definitely the Ocarina of Time Easter egg where you can find a reference to Link’s Awakening by speaking to the character 'Mabe Village'.

I knew I had too much of my mum's christmas cake. What I meant to write was in reference to Zelda's A Link To The Past. The house with the unique roof design in Ocarina of Time’s Mabe Village is a direct reference to the same location in A Link to the Past. It was appreciation of the earlier game by the devs and highlighting the connection between the two games. I knew something was off when I left my PS5 controller in the fridge yesterday. She always puts too much rum in this cake.
The Blackangel Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Mabe Village is in Links Awakening. It’s not part of OoT or LTTP. So there’s some kind of misfire here.
