Do you see Merch selling as a profitable business for musicians?

Recommended Posts

A lot of musicians, both the new and old ones, rely on merch selling as a means of raising more funds for the label or for themselves. Would you consider the business of selling merch as a beautiful idea or not?

I feel it depends on the musician and how famous they are as to whether selling merch would be profitable for them. You have some artists who are really popular and can make a lot from their merch, and others who tend to sell their merch slow or even not at all meaning they do not make a profit.

It depends on the fame of the musician and how big and dedicated fanbase they have.

Yes, it is about the fan base. If they are huge and ready to buy the items, it will make it easy for the musician to make those sales. It is as simple as that.

It's going to be a big business for famous artists because their fan base will always be interested in buying those merch. I've bought a few of them of those singers I love. I don't know if they are the one's behind it though.
