Scorpion
How reliable do you find professional game reviews when deciding which games to play? Do you trust the opinions of critics, or do you prefer player reviews and feedback? Share your experiences with both, including specific examples where a review influenced your decision positively or negatively. What do you prioritize in reviews? killamch89
The reliability varies dramatically based on the site's business model. Outlets dependent on publisher advertising dollars and early access tend to score games higher to maintain relationships. Independent critics on YouTube or Patreon who answer only to their audiences generally provide more honest assessments, even if they're more subjectively biased. Shortie
This tends to be a mixed bag when we see game reviews from professionals. In some cases, I have known the game reviews to be quite accurate but then I have come across some game reviews that have been not so accurate. This is one of the reasons I don't always take reviews as a final decision for games and instead will take a look at those playing the game live or those who have made videos as they tend to be more accurate. Kennysplash
I learned that some companies even pay people to give positive reviews about games. Ever since I learnt that I find it hard to believe most of the reviews I read.
Bizdustry
Game reviews can be useful, but they aren’t always reliable. They can give you a good idea about the game’s quality, how it plays, and its story. However, reviews can be biased by different opinions.
