killamch89 Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 Returnal on PS5 defeated me completely. The combination of bullet-hell dodge mechanics, roguelike progression, and multi-hour run lengths meant that failing late in a run was so demoralizing that I couldn't bring myself to start over again after my fifth straight loss to the second biome boss.

I remember seeing so many playing the game on live streams and knowing the kind of game it was and how difficult it was, when I saw it in sale, I snagged it. I played it for around half an hour before rage quitting and not going back. I do still have the game should I ever want to try again.
