Kane99
Source - https://twistedvoxel.com/games-for-windows-live-license-activation-service-no-longer-functional/ I had no idea the Game for Windows Live service was still accepting activation codes yet. But it seems they just recently shut the program down. But, it's being said that gamers haven't been able to sign into the service to even access the games they own. Sucks for game preservation, because this could be the future of all of our digitally owned games. Or the licenses we hold on these games at least. So now it's up to the publishers of these games to re-release them or find a way to make them still work. But I doubt that will happen.
Scorpion
It's frustrating to see Game for Windows Live shut down, especially for game preservation. The inability to access owned games highlights the risks of digital ownership. Hopefully, publishers will step up to re-release or support these titles, but it’s uncertain. Shortie
This sure does suck for those who used the service for game preservation for sure. I know many that would have done so and not being able to access games you bought is a real kick in the butt. We can only hope that publishers will step up and I sure hope they do.
