killamch89 Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 Narrative art whether graphic novels, cinematic paintings guides you through a sequence of events, while abstract or impressionist pieces evoke moods through color, form, or texture alone. Which approach moves you more deeply? Can you think of a work that achieved both, or do you find yourself drawn to one style?
Knight Barida Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 I will always go with arts that create emotions. Emotion is a big deal in today's world as not many arts can be able to evoke that feeling from humans. So, having an art that creates emotions is such a big deal as far as I am concerned.
killamch89 Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 I've found the most affecting art does both simultaneously - the narrative provides intellectual engagement while emotional resonance creates lasting impact. Hayao Miyazaki's films exemplify this duality perfectly, telling rich stories while evoking profound emotional landscapes. The complementary relationship between story and feeling often creates more profound experiences than either could achieve independently.
Shortie Posted May 11, 2025 Posted May 11, 2025 I have always been someone who prefers to see art that tells a story. I never used to be a huge fan of art but will admit, as I have gotten older, I have noticed that art that tells a story I have been more drawn to and I find that particular art to be one that I am drawn to almost instantly.
