Shortie Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 We are just over 5 months into 2025, almost 6 months in and so far we have seen some great video game releases. Of all the video game releases we have had so far this year, what would you say is your Game of the Year so far?
killamch89 Posted May 16, 2025 Posted May 16, 2025 It's technically from late 2024, but I didn't play Black Myth: Wukong until January, and it completely blew me away. The Chinese mythology setting offers a refreshing break from Western fantasy tropes, and the challenging combat forces thoughtful engagement rather than button mashing. The visual design sets a new standard for environmental storytelling. Shortie 1
Scorpion Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 My personal Game of the Year so far is “Elden Ring.” Its breathtaking open world, challenging gameplay, and rich storytelling have kept me hooked. It’s a masterpiece that offers endless exploration and memorable moments, making it the standout game of the year for me. Shortie 1
Shortie Posted May 25, 2025 Author Posted May 25, 2025 At the moment I will be honest and say that I don't feel I have a game of the year yet for 2025 which is unusual for me. Some updates on games in 2025 have been welcomed and I have enjoyed but when it comes to actual game releases, I haven't found one that jumps out at me.
Anders Posted May 26, 2025 Posted May 26, 2025 The best games I've played so far this year have to be Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 and Doom: The Dark Ages. I'm not done with either of them yet, but I'm really enjoying both.
