Shortie Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 I always remember, around a year after I got my Nintendo Switch, my Joy-Con started getting stick drift. At first, it didn't really bother me and I was able to cope with it but the more it was used, the worse it became. I now have been able to replace my Joy-Con sticks and so far, even after a year of them being used, I don't seem to be getting any stick drift which I am very happy about. What are your thoughts about Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons? Is stick drift still a problem or is is overblown?
killamch89 Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 Joy-Con drift is definitely still a real issue, but I think people are more aware of prevention methods now like using contact cleaner and avoiding dust buildup around the analog sticks regularly.
Scorpion Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 It's fantastic you got your Joy-Cons fixed! Stick drift is definitely a persistent problem, not overblown at all. Many users still experience it, even on newer models and the recently released Switch 2.1 It seems like an inherent design flaw with the potentiometers used, but thankfully, Nintendo offers free repairs in many regions.
