StaceyPowers
This year I’ve been frustrated at the not-entirely-unexpected delay of the release of Ken Levine’s next game, Judas. Those following this know that game was in development hell for ages and ages. What are some other examples of games that suffered repeat or extended delays in development? killamch89
Duke Nukem Forever holds the crown at 15 years, but Cyberpunk 2077's multiple delays were more painful because of the constant hope and disappointment cycle. At least with DNF we knew it was development hell early on.
Scorpion
Some games that suffered the most and longest delays include “Duke Nukem Forever,” which was in development for over 15 years, and “Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2,” facing multiple postponements. These delays often stem from development challenges and high expectations.
Anders
Not sure if this qualifies as "delayed" as it was outright cancelled, but last month, on the 6th of may, a game called Captain Blood was released. This game was originally announced for the ORIGINAL XBOX in 2003! The developer apparently ran into some legal trouble and it went back and forth until the developer went bankrupt in 2010. A few years back some of the original developers were able to aquire the rights back and finally finished the game. I played a bit of the demo, and while it looks pretty decent, it definitely feels and plays like a mid-2000's hack and slash. A nice throwback in my opinion, I'll probably pick up the full game at some point.
