killamch89 Posted June 16, 2025 Posted June 16, 2025 Beyond the main dungeons, N64’s Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask had side quests like the Biggoron Sword, Gold Skulltulas, and fishing minigames. Which one tested your patience or skills the most, and how did you overcome it?
The Blackangel Posted June 17, 2025 Posted June 17, 2025 The fishing pond in OoT. Trying to get a fish big enough to get the heart piece as an adult is all but impossible. The fish that are big enough never stay on the goddamn hook. I eventually say screw it. I’ve never been a good shot with the bow or slingshot, so the shooting games are out. Getting the BigGoron sword is a pain in the ass due to having to deal with items that expire. The hardest to do in MM is getting the Fierce Deity mask. That's a pain to get because you have to have every mask in the game if you want it, and some of those masks are beyond hard to get. The kind of hard that makes you rage quit. There's a lot of gamers that, to this day, can't figure out what that empty spot in their inventory means, simply because they don't even know about the mask.
killamch89 Posted June 20, 2025 Author Posted June 20, 2025 The Stone Mask quest in Majora's Mask stumped me for years because it was so easily missed. Finding that injured soldier in the canyon required thorough exploration and the right lens of truth timing - brilliant hidden content.
