  1. This whole response is so above and beyond, and sort of a delicious treat. Thank you. Ironically, there was a bright, sunny dungeon I saw in Skyrim once that I cannot for the life of me identify or locate again, and it's been driving me crazy for years. THIS. The stories woven into the Fallout vaults are awesome.
  2. @Reality vs Adventure said in another thread, "That's how I see a dungeon. It's more of a mental state of torture with added monsters." What are some games that actually feature something like this? In an indirect fashion, I think BioShock Infinite qualifies, though it is not literally in the protagonist's mind. But it does reflect his inner demons.
  3. @killamch89 mentioned traps as a positive in dungeons recently, which surprised me, cause they drive me crazy--especially as it is always my followers setting them off. How do you all feel about traps?
  4. John Marston in RDR also has a terrible habit of making bad decisions. His entire life consists of being used like toilet paper by almost everyone he meets 😕 I didn't find him unrelatable, but I wanted to smack him sometimes, like, "not again ..."
  5. Yes, I particularly recommend this one to you 🙂
  6. There are a number of Lovecraft-themed games out there now, and I haven’t played any of them yet. Can anyone here recommend your favourites, specifically those among you who have read HP Lovecraft’s stories?
  7. I logged soooo many hours of Texas Hold'Em in Red Dead Redemption 🙂
  8. What makes a dungeon enjoyable and compelling rather than dull and repetitious? I like dungeons with variations in their appearances/layouts as well as those with interesting stories woven through them (i.e. the Vaults in Fallout games).
  9. What are some games that people consistently recommended to you that you still have not gotten around to playing?
  10. What is something small from a game that particularly moved you? For example, in the Fade in DA: Inquisition, there was a paper recording a child’s thoughts listing things he feared that read almost like a poem to me. He was told to list the thoughts by an adult to make him feel better, and by the end, it was clear it could never work. It was poignant.
  11. What is a basic game mechanic you only figured out after completing an entire game? I only just figured out what horse deeds do after finishing all of RDR, lol.
  12. For Skyrim players, what is your favorite house in the game? Mine is either the one in the swamp near Solitude/Morthol, or Honeyside in Riften.
  13. If you could redecorate your home (and redesign the building) in a style from any game you have played, what would you choose? I would probably want to redo mine in an art deco/Rapture style from BioShock.
  14. How do you feel about gambling in video games? Not loot boxes specifically (we have threads on that), but like casino games and such like in GTA Online.
  15. What games do you think feature the most spectacular creature designs?
  16. I lost my trusty steed in RDR: Undead Nightmare and am now stuck with an undead horse that is going to get me killed. How/where can I find a new mount fast?
  17. Is there any type of game you have zero experience with? For example, I have never played a battle royale game.
  18. What was your favorite game you played this year? Mine was Spec Ops: The Line.
  19. Which games have handled undead/zombies/infected/similar enemies the best?
  20. Where do you like to shop for game-themed merch other than official stores? I recently discovered KnerdKraft for cool game-themed art prints.
  21. What are the creepiest enemies you’ve faced in games? For me it is probably still clickers in TLOU.
  22. Thank you for everything, @DC 🙂
  23. Are there any games which directly or indirectly taught you something useful about your own nature? While I could give a few examples, I think Spec Ops: The Line has taught me the most about myself by helping me see how my unconscious motivations can distort my actions without my knowledge, and why it is important to question one’s own motives now and again.
  24. I am a super slow gamer. I have noticed that on average, I can add 50% or more to the “average” estimate for how long it takes to play a game. So, if a game is listed as six hours, it will take me at least nine, sometimes even ten or twelve hours. How do your playthrough times tend to compare to the numbers you typically see listed?
  25. What are some games that focus on PTSD? The most obvious example I can think of is Spec Ops: The Line, and another is BioShock Infinite (though for some reason people don’t usually talk about PTSD with respect to Booker, and I’m not sure why).
