Gaming can be extremely tiring after a while, which is why I think it's really important to get another hobby. As I write a LOT about video games for a lot of sites, it can be really tiring at times to be like 'well guess I'll play some MORE video games' after writing about them for so long. Thankfully I'm using my spare time exercising/learning another language.
That's so cool! What language are you learning? I tend to skateboard in my free time for my exercise. Gaming and writing about games is definitely pretty exhausting.

I think it's pretty normal to sometimes take a break from gaming. Time is a finite resource, I guess.
I tend to read more books, watch more films/tv and go out skateboarding more when I'm in one of these moods -- I still play the odd game of COD or AvP, though. And I always come back to gaming in a hardcore way after a while and it weirdly makes me enjoy/love the gaming experience more.

Personally, when I'm playing PC games I use a 37" 1080P TV.

Always been super passionate about horror movies.
My personal favourites are Alien, The Thing, Halloween, The Shining, IT, Insidious and Scream. What're your faves?

Bad North and Into The Breach on Switch. Both great games and are super addicting. Highly recommend 'em.

Aye, that would've been a super handy feature for the poor ol' Vita. It would've put it more in-line with a Switch. Still, I spend a surprising amount of time on it playing indies sometimes. But I'm definitely gravitating towards the Switch more these days.

I'm still playing around with the final chapters of some the characters in Octopath Traveler. Amazing game. May pick up Battle Chasers at some point, too (I think it's on sale on UK PSN atm). Not necessarily a JRPG but the turn-based combat is very JRPG-esque. Heard very good things about it.

Not heard of this game before but will try and check it out.

Aliens Vs Predator (2010)! Soo underrated. After Colonial Marines came out, it retroactively made Rebellion's AvP look like a full on masterpiece!
Also, Silent Hill: Homecoming. No where near as bad as most people make it out to be.

Probably controversial but I thought Red Faction Guerrilla and FEAR 3 were both incredibly boring, derivative games. I also found GTA IV to be pretty dull, as well.

I play it a lot with my 6 yo daughter. She loves Creative mode and enjoys designing her own houses and mansions. It's a lovely way for us to play games together; Not too challenging and pretty chill. We've been playing Minecraft Story mode a lot, as well.

The Last Of Us, The Walking Dead, Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human were all super emotional experiences for me. Journey holds a special place in my heart, too.

First Xbox?

Xbox 360, but I picked up a preowned OG Xbox and had a tinker with it a couple of years ago. Was a bit disappointed with the Xbox One and ended up selling it. May pick one up later down the line, though.

Aye, I've got my eye on this game. Looks promising. Looks like an online-focused team-based zombie shooter akin to Left For Dead. Count me in!

Ok, so I'm a sucker for horror games. From Resident Evil to Silent Hill, from Outlast to Amnesia, I absolutely adore creepy experiences that get under my skin.
What're your fave horror games? What makes them really special?

I actually feel that the core concept of DLC is a good idea. Adding more to a game I love is awesome. I just dislike it when dev/publishers decide to carve out content from the base game pre-release and sell it as DLC. That's just BS.

Personally, I think Super Mario Odyssey is pretty overrated. Just can't get into it these days. Loved all the classic Mario games but I feel Mario has lost its lustre. Much preferred Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, honestly.

I'm all about Survival but my daughter loves Creative. Depends on what you're aiming to do in it, I guess.
Exploring/challenge = Survival
Designing/building = Creative

SNES is my fave Nintendo console. So many fond memories playing the classics like Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, F-Zero, StarWing etc growing up. Awesome that it had 2 controllers out of the box (much like the Switch does now). I think my favourite game is Super Mario World but it changes from time to time. I spent an inordinate amount of time playing SNES instead of playing outside like most other whippersnappers. What's everyone else's fave Nintendo consoles/fave games?

I both LOVE and HATE trophies/achievements.
I wrote about it a while back: http://www.digitallydownloaded.net/2016/02/why-trophies-and-achievements-are-best.html

Interesting question! Personally, I was raised Roman Catholic. I occasionally go to church. Wonder how other gamers feel about religion/faith in their lives?

Awesome console. Time splitters, Silent Hill 2, RE4 (I know it was a rerelease on PS2 but that's where I played it). Incredible library and it had A DVD PLAYER!!
Those were the days!
Do you ever get bored of gaming?

Wow, I've heard that Japanese is supposed to be one of the trickiest languages to learn. Is that true? I would love to visit Japan one day. It's on my bucket list!
Gosh, totally understand why you'd be put off skateboarding after an accident like that. Yeeesh, a broken arm is never fun 😞
