  1. Super interesting question. Definitely got me thinking. My knee-jerk reaction is that if Ellie is immune to the virus, then the truth is there must be more people who are immune to the virus like Ellie in the world, surely? Careful quarantining could be a way forward, but I think the fungal nature of the virus means it may take a long, long time for it to die out. Also, it could potentially lay dormant for many decades before it's truly wiped out. Heck, mushrooms can survive with very little nutrition for a very long time, so I'd say that some kind of vaccine would be essential for the survival of humanity. Just my two cents.

  2. Honestly, I think MS *could* potentially get into the handheld market. But like Demon_skeith said above, it's just not a super lucrative market for MS to invest in as Ninty have the market share and mindshare with the Switch.

I do often wonder, though, what a MS handheld would look like. It could happen but it's unfortunately very unlikely as it's probably not the best business decision. Sony is more likely to release another handheld and that's pretty unlikely unfortunately, too.

  3. Dragon Age Origins is brilliant and it's my favourite in that series, honestly. Games with good relationship systems/character interaction, huh? Umm, I guess the Mass Effect series is an obvious answer (another Bioware game, obviously). I think Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human are great games that handle dialogue/character interaction well. Some of the game's branching paths are very impressive. TellTale games are effective at this, too. And finally, the Fallout series has relationship system/decent dialogue options. Hope that helps!

  4. Off the top of my head, CS:GO, League Of Legends and Dark Souls have pretty toxic communities, but honestly, if you look hard enough, you'll find trolls in all gaming communities. Empty vessels make the loudest noise, so I just try to ignore them tbh.

  5. So many awesome games on PS4. A few of my faves off the top of my head are probably: Bloodborne, Darkest Dungeon, Uncharted 4, Dark Souls 3, Detroit Become Human, God Of War, INSIDE, Lone Survivor, and Until Dawn. There's probably more that I can't think of right now, lol. Fair dos, such a great library.

I think the Switch is going to take over the market that the Vita had for a while.

I adore my Vita but I 100% agree with Alyxx. The Vita is a great handheld that should've been supported more by Sony. Thankfully, indie devs and Japanese dev brought a ton of great small-scale experiences and big RPGs to the handheld and it works well as an indie/JRPG machine. It still holds a special place in my heart. Just wish those memory cards were a bit cheaper:/

  7. Even though I mostly play games on console, I'm a fan of playing games on the iPad, as well. I mostly play FTL: Faster Than Light, Monument Valley, Tiny Wings, Darkest Dungeon and Plants Vs Zombies.

Are there any games I'm missing out on? What mobile games do y'all recommend?

  8. I've been pretty lucky as the only movies I've read the books for were Michael Crichton novels: Jurassic Park, Sphere and The Andromeda Strain. Jurassic Park obviously was an awesome movie and a great adaptation of the novel. Whereas Sphere and The Andromeda Strain were both great movies in their own way, but didn't quite match up to the books. Also, JRR Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit books have been adapted well to the silver screen.

I've also read a few novelisations of movies, like Alien and Alien: Covenant. Both were awesome and very well written by Alan Dean Foster.

  9. I used to love Transport Tycoon when I was younger. Great little strategy/building sim.

Also, though they don't have the 'tycoon' moniker, Theme Hospital and Theme Park are both arguably top-notch tycoon games. I think there's even a remake of Theme Hospital coming out soon.

  10. Like all COD games except possibly Ghosts, WW2 has really solid MP and the Zombies mode is cool, too.  The MP maps are generally smaller and tighter, but the frenetic action that the series is known for is here in full force. WW2 is a good COD game and definitely worth a look if you're interested.

  11. I've owned a lot of PS hardware in my life. My first PS console was the PS2. Also owned a PSP, PS Vita, PS3 and a PS4.

My fave PS console is the PS3, though I know that that's an unpopular answer. What's everyone's fave PS console?

The better question for me is what JRPG I'm NOT playing right now 🤣 I do love my JRPGs. At the moment I'm still making my way through Ni No Kuni 2 and Atelier Lydie and Suelle because I've left them behind for a few months and I really want to finish them. But after that I'm starting Tales of the Abyss once again to prepare for Tales of Vesperia's eventual release!

I absolutely *adored* the original Ni No Kuni. One of my fave JRPGs of all-time. How're you finding Ni No Kuni 2? I was a little put off by the real-time combat system, lack of Studio Ghibli's involvement and the seeming lack of cute monsters to catch. I wanna check it out at some point and I've seen it for around 25 quid. Would you recommend it?

I'll jump on the Mass Effect Andromeda bandwagon. That game doesn't deserve HALF the hate it gets. Actually think it's better than ME1 by a long shot.

I've played the first couple of hours of Mass Effect Andromeda and I've enjoyed my time with it so far. Need to get back to it, but it just requires a lot of time to invest in it. Never got round to playing the first ME, though.
