StaceyPowers Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Are there some moments in video games that you have played numerous times that still catch you by surprise? For example, not much makes me jump in TLOU after multiple playthroughs, but I still got caught off guard the other night by the moment in Bill’s Town when you abruptly find yourself upside-down.
Empire Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 Subnautica's story completely and utterly caught my off guard. I knew nothing about the game going into it, except that it could be tense at times. But one time I was flying and I did not know that ATC came online in my location, BANG made me pooped myself lol
Scorpion Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Definitely! In "Bioshock," the twist about Andrew Ryan always surprises me, no matter how many times I replay the game.
killamch89 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Absolutely, I can relate. I’ve had a similar experience in the original Resident Evil 4 during the cabin defense with Luis - it’s such a frantic part, and even when I know it’s coming, the chaos of it still gets me tense every time. Those classic caught-off-guard moments keep games like these feeling fresh no matter how many times you replay them.
