StaceyPowers Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Are there any examples of video game dialogue you found surprisingly moving at really unexpected moments in games?
Empire Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 Maybe try Return of the Obra Din. It’s a puzzle/mystery game. But it respects the players intelligence. Introduces a cool set up, some cool game mechanics, and away you go. It’s all about analyzing. Wish I could play it again for the first time.
Scorpion Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Absolutely! The farewell between Ellie and Joel in "The Last of Us" struck me deeply, highlighting love amidst chaos and loss.
killamch89 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 I’d say the campfire scenes in Red Dead Redemption 2 really stuck with me. Hearing Arthur talk to himself by the fire, especially when he reflects on his past and mortality, caught me off guard. It felt so real, like he was letting down his guard in those quiet moments. I think it was how raw and unfiltered those monologues were that made them so unexpectedly moving.
