Back in the day, there may have been that one friends dad who was a bit crazy about politics, always watching the talking heads on TV. After listening to him ramble for a bit, you just moved on and played with your friends and thought to yourself "thank god that guy doesn't have a platform to broadcast his voice on". Today, thanks to social media, everyone has a platform and everyone is trying to make their voice heard, including many people who should keep silent.
