How do you keep your phone?

I've noticed that some people prefer facing their phone's screen down whenever they are keeping it on the table which I don't really understand the reason why they are doing it. I feel it is damaging or scratching the screen. Sometimes, I think they're trying to hide the phone screen from showing who is calling them whenever their phone rings or whenever they get a notification. 

How do you keep your phone?

The most important thing is to ensure that I keep my phone in a good state and not whether it is faced down or up. I use a ceramics screen guard, and it has helped to protect my screen.

I have a privacy screen on my phone and it doesn't really matter if faced up or down. I'm the only one that can see what's on my screen.
