Whether it's burning dinner, a recipe that went horribly wrong, or a kitchen accident, share your worst food-related fail. What went wrong, and how did you recover (or didn’t)? Let’s hear those kitchen horror stories.
The Blackangel Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 (edited) I was fixing break one day and was getting flour to make the gravy, and suddenly @Rain Dew yelled out “Fire!” I turned and the grease in the skillet had caught fire. I didn’t think, I just grabbed the skillet and ran for the door. I got a ton of grease all over my hand. I had second degree burns all over my hand. Just a hair worse and it would have been third degree. You can still see the scars to this day. Edited January 31, 2025 by The Blackangel
Rain Dew Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 One time I was cooking a frozen meal and somehow out the timer for 15 minutes. Ended up burning it and smoke was coming from the microwave.
The Blackangel Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 I remember that. We had to get Dante the hell out of that room fast. To let everyone know, Dante was our blue throated macaw. He loved calling everyone “asshole”. Technically, he was my bird, but he bonded with @Rain Dew fast. He hated men. He also wasn’t a fan of me despite being a woman. He tore me open several times.
killamch89 Posted February 1, 2025 Author Posted February 1, 2025 The worst one I've had is my dog running into the house one day while I cooking some soup and he tried to jump on me, knocking over the pot with the boiling soup burning both of us in the process. Luckily, the damage wasn't bad and we were both okay but he doesn't come anywhere near the kitchen when I'm cooking since that.
