killamch89
From JWST’s infrared sensitivity to the upcoming LUVOIR’s massive segmented mirrors, space telescopes keep pushing boundaries. I’m fascinated by concepts like star-shade companions for direct exoplanet imaging or quantum detectors for ultra-high resolution. Which innovations excite you most, and why? Are there mission designs you think deserve more attention or funding?
Shortie
I wouldn't say that I use telescopes but I do follow people, a few on TikTok who go live and I am often amazed at just how much detail you can see now compared to many years ago. There is one guy that I watch and he has often done live streams and I remember one, you could see Uranus and the rings around it, it was amazing to see! With the development of telescopes now, I can only imagine where they will be in around 5 - 10 years time.
The Blackangel Posted yesterday at 05:04 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:04 AM I'm most excited to get more detailed pics of black holes. If we could get a highres pic of a SMBH, I would be doing the Snoopy dance. Another thing I want to see is the death of a star, and see what it becomes after death. Neutron star, quasar, pulsar, black hole, none of the above, etc. I absolutely love astronomy, and my favorite aspects to study are star death and gas giant composition.
