Nintendo buys Canadian game studio in rare acquisition

It's weird to hear about Nintendo purchasing a studio, but it looks like they did exactly that, as they recently purchased up Canadian game studio Next Level Games. It may make sense though, as they were involved in the development of Luigi’s Mansion 3. This is actually the first studio they purchased since Monolith Soft back in 2007. So it's been quite a long time since they purchased anything. 

I think it makes perfect sense though, considering they worked on one of their games. Do you think this will result in more purchases from Nintendo? Or will they slow back down in that regard?

Good on them for getting some job security and recognition for their work. I for one am rather pleased with a lot of the news of acquisitions, especially with lesser known studios like Next Level Games. ^^

This acquisition makes total sense because they worked on a Nintendo project before and Luigi Mansion 3 was a good game imo. I often wondered why Nintendo never did this more often with companies that consistently helped them launch some titles.
