  1. This topic is already starting to sound like the "Rules" from Scream... Anyway... One thing that does drive me nuts about Braveheart is the portrayal of Robert the Bruce. He didn't betray William Wallace at Falkirk. Hell, he wasn't even there. He actually grew up in the English court, so if her betrayed anyone it was England. At Bannockburn in 1314, he wasn't all dressed up in fancy armour either, he was actually armoured for something suitable for "reconnaissance" only and armed only with a small axe. An English Knight named Henry de Bohun spotted Bruce in this "disadvantaged" state with light armour and riding a small horse and charged. Bruce held his ground until the last second before side stepping and whacking Henry de Bohun with that small axe right between the eyes, both killing him and breaking the axe in the process in one of the most amazing combat baits in history. Bruce actually had to sit out the rest of the battle because he no longer had any means to defend himself.

    Xenogears/Xenosaga?

I enjoyed Xenogears, but I can’t get into Xenosaga. I keep trying to push myself to finish Xenosaga 1, but it’s such a drag. I feel like I just walk a few feet to unlock an unnecessarily long cutscene. You know it’s bad when they have save points between the cutscenes.

  3. A Perfect Dark remake has been in development for a while now, being co-developed by The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics: There isn't a ton of information but it creatively seems to be going in quite a different direction to it's predecessor. It also seems to have had a bit of a troubled development with many of senior staff members (on the Crystal Dynamics side in particular) leaving the project along with various other delays due to COVID, Embracer Group's acquisition of CD and so on.

  4. Given the fact the original game was controlled with a single analogue stick, they'll have to. I love Goldeneye on N64 and Perfect Dark was even better, but let's be honest the games haven't aged that well. Bring back Perfect Dark with a retelling of the same, mad story with modern FPS mechanics, controls and graphics and I will be a happy man.

  5. Perfect Dark, I want to see if they keep it Goldeneye style or change it up a bit.

  7. I have a cupboard that I keep in my living room which is in the corner where we keep most of the games that we have and some of them are also kept in other cupboards of the house. At the moment I don't have any solid place where I can keep all the physical games that I have due to lack of funds to get something like that which is kind of why I am glad digital is now a thing as that means less worry on where to keep games when I get them so there is less clutter.

  8. As far as I know there has (still) been no official announcement from Sony or From Software. Earlier I made a "best case scenario" prediction of Q4 2023. If that's true then we might see an announcement the VGA's but I doubt it.

  11. Hi all, just to let you know ive started uploading the 3rd game in the Dark Pictures Anthology, House Of Ashes! I've already uploaded part 1 and 2, but ive decided that im going to keep my weekends for myself, as I upload most week days, which does take up a lot of my time, as im sure you can Imagine!:) so i think its only fair i keep a couple of days to myself, where i can do the things i enjoy with the people i care about, so Part 3 should be uploaded probably tomorrow (Monday)! Anyway for those of you who haven't played House of Ashes yet, come give it a watch and see what you think, as even if you watch it, you can still buy and play it yourself, as by making different decisions in the game, you will get a different outcome and story, so watching my version wont spoil the game for you too much. As always if you do watch it and like my vids, I would appreciate it millions if you could like the vid and even subscribe to my channel, as with support things will only get better! 🙂 Thanks everyone and take care! 🙂

  12. I didn't play a lot of indie games titles in the past but I remember this game from the PS 1 era. My older siblings wouldn't let me play video games with them so all I did was just sit down and watch or get my hands busy on my game boy pocket version.

  13. Don't you miss those days where they'd toss in a demo disc? I loved it. I had a subscription to PSM, which was a third party playstation mag. Sadly those did not come with demo discs like the actual PlayStation magazine did. I usually got gaming mags from my local grocery store. They used to sell older mags in bundles for a cheaper price, and I would buy those up. They did the same for comics, but a couple of the comics they literally remove the cover. So you'd get like 3 comics and one or two of them don't have the cover and back. But I built a small comic collection back then that way.

    Call of Duty Mobile

Idk I can't do touch controls for fps games. Just not my thing I guess. I tried both cod mobile and pubg mobile, and I couldn't get into it. I tried too. Both games worked fine on my old phone, which I was surprised by.

  16. Yes, I was very disappointed when they announced they were cancelling the backwards compatibility program. So many people including I always hoped that maybe one day we would see Simpson Hit and Run and Simpsons Road Rage come to Xbox under the backwards compatibility program but unfortunately, we were disappointed when they cancelled any further plans to keep it going. I would have loved to see both of those games come back to Xbox again.

    Game Pass Wishlist

That's a good question. For me, I think I'd want more PC releases added on gamepass. I get Gamepass ultimate whenever I do subscribe, and I've been trying to find more games for PC. I'd like to see that new Sonic Frontiers or whatever it's called added to gamepass, mainly because I do want to play it, but don't want to spend any money on it. Aside from gamepass of course. Other than that, The Callisto Protocol (I hear it's tough), and that Ready or Not game, though I don't think it's out on Xbox gamepass, just PC right now. Other than that, I think Stray would be cool, but I don't think it's coming out for Xbox. It's hard to say too, because so many games are releasing on gamepass now. Exclusives already release day one, so that's awesome in itself. But even some third party devs are releasing through gamepass day one, and I really love that.

  18. They have debuted some new promo images showing members of the cast like Joel, Ellie Tess, and others: https://www.eurogamer.net/hbos-the-last-of-us-debuts-new-cast-promo-images-including-joel-ellie-bill-and-frank There is more in the article if you want to check them out. I think they are looking great! Every bit as scruffy and miserable as they should be! The article has some has interesting information in it to. For one it confirms that where will be at least 3 brand new characters in it. Marlon and Florence, a married couple living in post-apocalyptic Wyoming and Kathleen, the leader of revolutionary movement in Kansas City. Thus suggesting that at points the show at times does narratively and geographically go in a different direction at times. It also confirms that Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who played Joel and Ellie in the games, will have cameo roles in the show.

    Warzone Mobile?

Eh probably not. Was never a big fan of the warzone side of COD. Always felt anxiety trying to play those battle royale games. I'd rather play the standard multiplayer modes in COD games if I do play. idk, I can play games like Fortnite, but Warzone, isn't for me. Plus, the people who play warzone take it way too seriously.

    A new portable?

With the popularity of the Steam Deck and the Switch, the idea may not be far from reality. Companies change their minds all the time. I didn't expect Sony to originally make a VR headset for the PS4, but they did. And the same goes for their original handhelds, I didn't expect them to do that either. I hear they have no plans, but plans change. Microsoft has said they have no plans either, but they're Microsoft, and if there's money to be made, they'll jump at it.

  21. You're better off connecting it via ethernet anyway. Wifi is notoriously bad when it comes to gaming online. I have to have a wired connection with all of my consoles and even with my gaming PC. I don't want to end up dropping my connection mid match after all. :D I'm sure there are some modders who figured out a way to make a wifi device for it. Kinda like how they made an HDMI mod for the OG xbox.

  22. A bit of a late reply on my part, but here we are. :) RDR1 starts off in 1911, where we see John disembarking a train. The back of the case also mentions it's 1911 and the west is dying. The date has kinda been ingrained in my head since I played the hell out of it. :D RDR1 has some beautiful looking graphics, yeah they aren't nearly as good as RDR2's graphics, but they still hold up quite well today imo. I just remember playing the game for the first time, on an HDTV and thinking how beautiful it was. But yeah, RDR2 is way more stunning graphically. Retro games age better I think. Most of them look great today. Haha I remember Ghosts. I remember when they were going crazy about this game, and then it turned out to be one of the worst in the series. I always figured they'd do a sequel like with their other games, but maybe it was best to go back to Modern Warfare instead.

    A new portable?

Yeah I can see most PS3/PS4 games being fine. These days we have tech that can do wonders, so I can see that being a reality. I hope they utilize the same control scheme of the PS4/5 controllers. Streaming is a must, as that is our inevitable future when it comes to gaming and pretty much everything else.

  24. Anyone buying a new switch now may as well buy the OLED model. If Nintendo had any intention of releasing a so-called "Switch Pro" the OLED model would have been that. We will not see a hardware upgrade from Nintendo until they come out with a whole new console.

  27. Just one game the whole time? Or are we allowed to play any games in our personal time? :D But seriously, I don't think I could stick to one game forever if that's the case. I prefer a mix of games. But if it's in terms of playing in Esports. Maybe. I played a lot of COD back in the day, so maybe I could see myself playing COD for a living if I ever jumped back into it. Also, if it paid really good money and I was able to win a lot, I'd do it.

  28. Thanks everyone for your replies, it makes me feel better that im not the only one who thinks this way, i was starting to feel like i was just trying to justify all the years ive spent in the wonderful world of games, by telling myself that im actually getting more from them than just pure enjoyment (which is reason enough to do anything for sure) lol 🙂 I guess ive just spent too much time around non gamers, who dont appreciate the work, imagination, research and money that goes into making a good and in a lot of cases historically accurate game. Kane99 you are correct my friend, i too have learnt so much from the assassins creed games, as not only are they full of fact based history, but you also get a real feel for what it would have ben like to live in that era, im thinking right now of my latest AC experience which was obviously Valhalla and in that game, especially as im from the north of England, it gave me a real appreciation of the struggles our forefathers faced, not only from the Vikings but from the Romans too, everyone wanted a piece of old blighty back then lol! Ive also just got into PCVR as i connect my Quest 2 to my gaming PC and wow let me say the immersion level has gone through the roof, its another level and can only add to the learning experience, as now im in the game/game world and you experience things and see things that you would have missed playing on a monitor or tv, its absolutely crazy 🙂 ive just finished Lone Echo and i was left speechless, to be in orbit around Saturn, as a worker droid protecting your human partner is another level when your actually there, i was stood looking out of our space craft at the view of Saturn with its rings and all the meteors floating around it, it really gave me a perspective i would never have dreamed of without VR 🙂 There is a few tweaks you have to make when first setting up your quest 2 for PCVR gaming via a link cable, but it is well worth it when you get it right, as it improves the look and feel of the game 10 fold, im happy to help anyone who is using their quest 2 for PCVR, just drop me a message and ill talk you through it, as it does improve the look of the games in VR very much if done right. Anyway peeps thanks again for the replies and sorry for the long response lol once i get chatting you cant stop me 🙂 take care all, Woody

    Food allergies?

This is pretty much me in a nutshell It's technically not an allergy, but since everyone mistakenly calls it one, it's just easier to say it is. Certain ones affect me more than others, but I haven't really deciphered which ones do better or worse. I can still drink, but I don't do it often because of the body reactions. Sometimes I get red in the face very quickly, and people think I'm already hammered, and I'm only half a beer in.

  31. I wasn't aware of a direct connection. Neverwinter is a free-to-play MMO based upon the Neverwinter Nights series of RPGs that themselves are based upon Dungeons & Dragons. However, having done a little research in the wake of your question, I now see that The Neverwinter Saga is a saga written in the forgotten realms campaign world of D&D, a part of the Legend of Drizzt series (from Wikipedia): So whilst I don't think he was directly involved (What you might be thinking of is How R.A. Salvatore Helped Bring Icewind Dale to Games Again for Dark Alliance), but it seems like Neverwinter Nights, and thus Neverwinter, are based on his work. I must say thank you for the question, It helped me learn something new.

  32. I feel that the console VR may be a gimmick, but the the actual headsets dedicated to VR like Oculus isn’t a gimmick. I’ve never used the console type VR so that is only my opinion on it and I could be very wrong. I have used Oculus and no doubt it will get better and better. The graphics are in its early stages. But games that aren’t emphasized or defined by realism is especially awesome in VR. I will never forget playing a roller coaster game in VR and it’s seriously very real to me, despite not having perfect graphics; the feeling of falling at high speed and all that. Sit down or you will fall over no doubt. I think Meta is vulnerable these days. Not to go into politics, but there certainly is many outside factors that can slow down VR progression. That’s why it’s not a good idea to have social media involved with a gaming line. But VR is no gimmick. It’s the future of gaming. Musk’s gaming brain chips for Neuralink is a gimmick. That’s when Frankenstein meets Hyde

Ever been part of a clan?

I have been part of a clan, yes. I remember back in 2008 I met a few people when playing Saints Row and we got playing and moved to Rainbow Six Vegas 2 where we continued our clan there and met a group of people who had another clan. We used to have a ton of fun going up against each other in terrorist hunt or in custom made matches as a friendly fun time between 2 clans. After a while we moved to Halo 3 where we continued our clan until everyone started moving on due to life away from gaming becoming busy and the clan disbanded.

  34. I have played PSOBB! The last time I played the game though was back in 2020 on the Xbox as they released the game on consoles a few years ago. As much as I love the game, I just haven't found the time to be able to jump on and play like I used to, mainly because I get so addicted to it when I do play and then everything else gets pushed to the side. I know at some point I will jump back on again, but it will be a time when I have more time to be able to get stuck in.

  35. Tenchu series for sure. I think the last game in the series dropped in 2007 on the 360. Or from what I remember. I second syphon filter, mainly because I played the hell out of the first two games demos. Lol. Other than that, I'd like to see a new Einhander game. I really liked that game back in the day, but I think it was the only game in the series.

    Fan-made projects?

I love it. I think it's great as long as you're not profiting off of that fan game. Plus it's illegal to do, so there's that. But I think it's perfectly fine to make a fan game to pay your respects to a game you love. I hate when people get told to stop because a studio doesn't want them making a game based on theirs. But I think it's fair use as long as you're not selling it or profiting from it. Which is why I hate when Nintendo or Rockstar stop these developers from making these fan games. Let them have fun.

    A new portable?

I don't think a new PS handheld has to meet the same specs of a PS5. That's kinda tough to do. But i think as long as they make quality games, that's all that matters. I don't think you can get the same specs as a PS5 in such a small form factor either. I'm sure the steam deck had to cut some corners to make it work for them. I think if they can match what the switch and steam deck can do. It'll work out much better.

    Fan-made projects?

The fact that people are willing to sit and code a fan made version of a game is just amazing and as you say, some of them are just amazing and definitely worth being looked into my game developers in possibly bringing them in to work for them. I can only imagine the number of hours they must put in to get the game to get it where it's playable with limited problems and get barely any recognition for the game is very sad. Hopefully one day developers will pick up on those who make fan made games and appreciate them a little more than they do now.

  39. This is awesome and the first I have heard of this. I do still have an original Xbox upstairs that I kept that I could try this on just to be able to go back. It would bring back a lot of memories to be able to go back to the Xbox Live 1.0 service. I remember how basic the first Xbox was and their online service so being able to go back to that and just see how much things have changed over the year would be amazing.

  40. Another thing is how Qatar abused migrant workers who built the stadium to host the World Cup. They violated those worker's human rights in almost every way like forced labor, assault, stolen wages, little food, overwork and extreme heat with no breaks. At least 6,500 migrant workers died since the announcement of hosting the World Cup. I don't know the number that died building the stadium itself. This is crazy. WTF.

  41. FIFA sold what very little was left of their souls to Qatar for this event to be held in this shit country. I won't be shy and mince my words here, these people are incompetent fucking scum. Quatrain officials have harassed innocent reporters for no reason, they banned the the sale of alcohol at the last minute but still took money from companies like Budweiser. They've been banning and confiscating items that show support for the LGBTQ+ community despite FIFA's assurances that they wouldn't. There has been a catalogue list of technical problems from tickets sales on FIFA's own app to travel and accommodation for fans and the president of FIFA has publicly defended them for their atrocious human rights violations saying and I quote "Europe should apologise for the las 3000 years". That's just the tip of the iceberg, hell that's the tip of the iceberg concerning the World Cup! There is so much more when it comes to the hateful and disgusting place but I don't want to rant forever,

  44. This guy barley mentioned dick about another Burnout game and even if he did it would be another open world fringe off the same cloth as Need For Speed or Forza Horizon. When EA and Criterion released Burnout Paradise they fucking murdered the entire genre! They made it perfectly clear that they don't want to make fun, offline, arcade racers anymore and a disgustingly large number of players apparently agreed so the fun racing game is now dead, The last Burnout game was Paradise and it was dogshit. Even if Criterion were willing to make another Burnout there is far to many idiots that think Paradise was a good game that that is inevitably what they would build it from. Thanks for sharing but fuck this!

  46. The game is essentially a resource management game with zombies. For me, it got really repetitive an I hated how glitchy it was for me at times. Also you walk and run far too slow imo, at least from what I remember playing it. I imagine Days Gone is more comfortable to control, but I don't know if it really compares to Days Gone. With State of Decay and its sequel, you pretty much deal with the same zombies. You have to scavenge houses for supplies, constantly be on your feet because of zombies. You also have to clear out houses from zombie infestations and so on. You can meet survivors on your travels etc. The co-op isn't all that great imo. It just allows you team up with another player. It just makes the person you're playing with, much better than the crappy AI partners.

  47. I myself always used to worry when my laptop or even my PC would kick off with the fan going crazy when I was doing anything heavy. I used to worry that my PC was getting ready to just give up on me because of how hard the fan was pushing itself, after a while I got used to it and realized it was doing what it was supposed to which was help keep my PC cool whilst I was doing things such as gaming. It's nice to have something there even if it's just the fan kicking up to know that your PC is doing something so that you are aware to not do too much and possibly cause it to crash out.

  50. @Crazycrab did justice to the topic. There are very many things that influences how an individual chooses to relate or react to other people in the society and we have to look at the psychological aspects instead of relying just on what is visualized what about personal experience like been abused as children , taking hard drugs and excessive alcohol and other vices. Yes video games can influence but 80% of violent people I know in my neighborhood don't even play video games and can't even afford to get a good console. So what does Oxford have to say to say about that.
