  1. Hey everyone I'm Ravenfreak, I'm a 32 year old nerd! I mainly enjoy retro games the most but I do play modern games as well. Other things besides games that I like are anime/manga, cartoons/comics, music, movies, forums, and I do enjoy programming from time to time. My favorite animated series is Teen Titans, and my favorite gaming franchise is Sonic the Hedgehog.

  2. What's considered fun can be subjective in my opinion. This is because there are a lot of things that I might find fun in which another person would disagree and that's very normal. The same thing is apparently applicable to video games as well. A gamer might see a particular game to be fun for him while it's not to another. If I'm picking one game that's pure fun to play, it would be the first person life simulation adventure video game Slime Rancher.

  5. This reply is directly at @Justin11, but I want anyone who sees this to read it and read it carefully. Here's the thing @Justin11. You don't bother to take the time to adequately read a post then without thinking it through you make a reply. The reply is clearly made with inadequate understanding of the post you are replying to and/or a lack of understanding of the facts and the subject matter of the thread itself. Then you say "my bad" and apologise. Then comes the part that genuinely pisses me off, you never learn form this when it happens and sooner or later you do exact same thing again. Why does this keep happening? Why is it despite making this mistake time after time, you keep doing it? Well, I'll tell you why, it's because you don't care. You don't care to put in the effort it takes to avoiding this mistake again, because reading and replying to post with consistent accuracy on a forum does take effort. It takes reading a post carefully and making sure you understand it (Especially important if English isn't your first language.) then taking just as much care to crafting a reply that is worth making. But for you, getting this wrong is inevitable no matter how many times you "apologize" for it And cherry on top of this shit cake is that in this thread, you are STILL getting it wrong! There's not one point in this entire thread @The Blackangel even mentioned the SNES or The Switch. Look again at her first post; She even said in that post that that was only a potion of her NES games, another thing that needed repeated for your sake because you clearly didn't read it properly. We know you're not doing this maliciously, but there has to come a point where you're not doing it by accident either. People who post on this forum, moderator or not, at the very least deserve to have people who read thier posts actually read them and understand them, especially if the one reading the post intends to reply. I really should not have to explain this to anyone because it's basic forum etiquette as well as common sense. It is so frustrating dealing with someone not understanding and replying to your clearly written, easy to understand posts because they can't be bothered to take the time to read them properly. I'd even call it infuriating. It would actually be better to ignore other people's posts completely than keep doing this. Now, I really don't know where to go with you and the others who consistently do this sort of thing. Another thing I feel like I've said a million times, we understand that English is not the first language for a lot of our members, and if people do struggle with English we are here to help anyone needs help, but it's also true that it's each members responsibility to take the time they need to both read and write posts accurately. However, I tend to find that in most of these instances people to leave little time between posts, suggesting they are doing this in a rush. If you keep doing this, we will have to take more affirmative action. We don't want your apologies @Justin11, we want to to learn from these instances.

  13. Your not getting it are you? For reasons that I and others have thoroughly explained already it is literally impossible for Bloodborne 2 to release this year assuming it's even it in production at all. If it was even close to a release they would have announced it by now. It not like Sony would be all shy and quiet about it, they would be promoting the hell out of it. Firing on all cylinders with trailers, state of play event's, interviews, posters and more.

  17. How long are you planning on playing games? I think this is a question that nobody can answer, unless you came from the future but you aren't now are you. When i read these kind of questions that you can't really give a proper answer to. I always ask myself the question how much have i changed as a person over the years, you know people change and their interest can become something completly else over time. I mean ask yourself what was into 10-15 years ago, i'm i still into the same things and what not? Their are several reasons why somebody would give up on a hobby, maybe it's the lack of time, just losing interest alltogether is another valid reason to consider. I could give a few examples on how my interests and how i changed as a person the past 10 years but i would be going way offtopic and don't want to do that however one consistent factor is that gaming has always been part of my life and i can see it to continue to be a part of my life for the foreseeable future.

  18. I have spoke of this before, but the real problem with delays and games coming out unfinished and buggy is about game companies announcing release dates way too early. This is exactly what happened with Cyberpunk 2077, they announced the release date at E3 while all eyes were on them to start taking in preorders almost a year before said release. We all know what happend next, the game got delayed on less than three occasions for them to feel compelled to release the game full 18 months after that E3 announcement knowing it was still busted. If they had just waited to announce the release date when they knew they would have the game ready, that entire controversy could have been avoided. I fully agree @kingpotato, if a developer/publisher is faced with a choice of releasing a half baked game or delaying, delaying it is the best option every time, but they should some common sense and only announce a release date when they know that can make that date and have the game not nesserily perfect (It's asking a lot to ask them to find every bug in a modern game), but at least complete and fully functional. Do that, and very likely will not have to face that dilemma at all.

  19. If you are a true game lover you would certainly have spent some long streak of hours playing video games. My longest hours playing video games at a stretch is 48hours sounds unreal but it's true. this was during the heat of the pandemic in 2020 movements were restricted so I was practically stuck at home . I found a really cool game called Persona 5 Royal for my ps4 console with really exciting contents a lot of characters, more dialogue, unending quests and activities and lengthy overall time to fit them into. I got so hooked trying to complete quests and adventure I didn't even realize I have been playing for several hours only taking breaks for meals or snacks. what's the longest hours you've spent on a video game in a stretch?

  22. I think you'd have to ask the people who choose not to sue "why" for a direct answer. But it basically comes down to money. If there's enough money, like Microsoft Elite 2 or Cyberpunk then stuff is put into place to make the buyer whole. If it's something like an app, there isn't enough money. App games are mostly free and rely on advertmenets so we could guess there isn't enough time, resources, or potential award money to warrant the effort.

  23. At times just doing YouTube at 4K with screen full can last a good hour and whatnot, gaming hard doesn't drain like the old phones. The go+ drains the battery the most. An active Bluetooth connection is a constant battery drain. I’ve had my 12 for a year now. I have to either use a battery back up while playing, as i also grind with a gotcha, or i just have to charge twice in a day. I’m at 87% capacity. Now that Apple has opened up self repairs, we may be able to replace our own battery when needed.

  24. Ogre Battle: The March Of The Black Queen wasn't mentioned by anyone and I felt that's not good enough. It's one of best tactical RPGs game ever made which focuses on war management and building armies. It's something that I love so much.

  25. I don't push myself to the extreme limit while playing games, therefore, I have never blackout. Gaming is just fun activity and I do not want to hurt my mind and body by pushing myself to extreme limit.

  27. First of all, I don't care what anyone says, Murder She Wrote kicks ass! Secondly your the one that's completely wrong here. Thirdly you can cut that "I'm right and yer wrong lol" crap or we are gonna have a problem! That attitude is completely uncalled for. You seem to be associating the term "fun" exclusively with the laughing and smiling type of experience, but that's not the only way people have "fun". Enjoyable experiences also come from being aroused, surprised, intellectually stimulated and winning. Even negative stimulation like sorrow, shock, terror and sometimes even pain. Why else would people enjoy horror movies, bungie jumping, crying at opera's and BDSM. But no, it's seems that in gaming the only way to have fun is you narrow definition of "what causes smiles and laughs" and "fun itself is not subjective". Are you for real? If that were true we wouldn't even be having this discussion because we would all the be playing the same games doing the same thing. I'll be honest here, your version of "perfect fun": Sounds stressful as fuck to me! Continuous sensory load with no breaks with non stop smiling and laughing? I'd think I'd have a heart attack! But that's fine, you do you. I don't see why you feel the need to jump down other people because they find some something dramatic like The last of Us "fun", or least not your kind of fun. I'm genuinely baffled at the idea you seem fun isn't subjective. That is so academically incorrect and I know you're smart. You even mentioned in your post "you could say my interpretation of fun is subjective" so I don't see what kind of message your trying to get across here.

  28. As much as I love Final Fantasy 6, I say go with Earthbound first. It's definitely my favorite RPG on the SNES, it's so bizarre and eerie at the same time. It's also got one of the most creepiest sounding tracks in a non horror video game, not Giygas' theme but the Cave of the Past.

  29. This first thing I have been able to find out is the the Fortnite Dreamhack Tournament appears to have expired, so I'm afraid that's out. The second thing is I'd advise caution. Legitimate tournaments do often expect players to pay to be a part of the professional associations to pay for tournaments making it very easy to be scammed. I'd never discourage anyone from perusing esports if they're serious about it, but with all due respect the way you have worded you post tells me that you haven't given this much thought. Sometime game companies might host open competitions like Dreamhack, but most of them are made for professionals with capital to invest into thier career either from themselves or from investors and sponsors, and it takes being the absolute best players with a proven record to get there. By all means , keep an eye out for tournaments like Dreamhack in the future and even share them with VGR when you learn about them, but be carful out there.

  30. I'm not sure to be honest because barring the most demanding of games - the difference in battery drain between most games is not that huge.

  33. I don't really mind putting that amount in a game, as long as I derive satisfaction and pleasure playing the games. I once spent $250 to get a new gaming chair and wall lights to put in my gaming room just to get the whole place lit and appealing to be in.

  34. Installments I meant was buying a new game, then spending more money on DLC or another edition a year later. So what seems like installments is actually spending MORE money on the same game in two different purchases a year apart. So it seems cheaper when the amount of money you spend is split in two payments instead of all at once. There aren't any cheaper installments. I don't want to buy a $90 game. But $60 now and $30 later for DLC just feels cheaper. Best thing to do is let the game age a couple years and buy the gold edition for $25 or so. But when it's your favorite game, of course we will buy it new, and get caught up spending more on the game a year later.

  39. You're right about that on being able to play a lot more on weekends especially on Saturday. Just like yesterday, I was able to play at least for 7 hours starting around 7:25 AM throughout the day till I stopped playing around 9:00 PM. I played at intervals for the 7 hours in order not to strain myself too much all because I had the time to play more.

  43. I don't have a problem with bots, to be honest but only if they make it clear that this is a feature and it's only for the first few games when you're new to it. If they're adding bots to every game when they don't have enough players, I definitely wouldn't like that.

Hey dude just wanted to give you an update and once again thanks for the gba recomendations: Ninja five-o : Its good I guess, slower than ninja gaiden but easier. I still dont get what all the fuss was about, maybe its just because its a rare physical game The Pinball of the Dead : I dont play a lot of pinball games, this one is weird xD When you first recommended this one I was not expecting the game to be related to the House of the Dead games, its cool that you can kill some zombies with the pinball and I still dont undertand why I have to shoot a zombie at the beggining of each round, I ran out of pinballs in all 3 scenarios before getting to the boss. Anyway not a big fan of pinball but it was fun. Drill Dozer: I had played this game many many years ago on an emulator on PC , its a good game overall, but I feel Im missing out on the real experience of the game, a cool feature about it was the rumble or vibration from the console when drilling, something that Im missing out because Im emulating this on a 3ds. As to what I understand Boktai has a similar console only feature were you have to rely on real sunlight, I havent played Boktai yet but some people have metioned you can work around that using a button combination on the emulator. Car Battler Joe: An okay game but I feel that it has a lot of unnecessary story, it has the same text level as an rpg, I mean the gameplay itself didnt look to deep, Its just basically cars crashing or shooting againts each other on a big arena or track, and the controls are a little stiff Kururin Paradise : same as the first one Im really bad at this type of puzzle games xD Lilo & Stitch: Surprisingly short, I mean like really really short, it took me about an hour or so to beat it. Its a cool action sidescrolling shooter. Sigma Star Saga: My very first complain about it was that the controls are very stiff on the first spaceship level (Kinda like Gradius), it took me like 3 attempts to get pass that. After that there some story telling and then the gameplay changes to character overview and it turns in an action game, and thats when the game actually gets better, I stop playing it when I had to do another space ship level where I had to fight against a flying alien meatball. btw the main character looks like Ultralord from Jimmy Neutron xD Tomato Adventure : This one I had to play it on my phone because for some reason the english patched version wasnt working on my 3ds. It has a very interesting fighting system, first of all its a turn based, for the attacks its based on a power bar with a timer for each of your weapons (or gimmicks as they call it on the game) and you can adjust the difficulty on the power bar, the easier the less damage it will dealt. I havent played much but Im probably going to spend the rest of the day playing this one. Densetsu no Stafy 1 : This one I wasnt able to find the english patched version but its a simple enough game that you can almost play it without knowing what the text says, its a water adventure game, I liked the animation the star makes when you run on dry land it was very funny xD I only got to level 3. Same thing as Tomato adventure I had to play it on my phone. Im leaving the rest for later this week or next week, I havent forgot about them. Boktai , Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis , Yggdra Union and Oriental Blue: Ao no Tengai

  49. And that movie would be.....................? If you're going to make a comment like this, then give the title. That way others can also check out the movie you're talking about. We're not mind readers. Posting in this way is a waste of time. Offer up all of the information, or don't post. I hate having to tell you this, as I believe you have been told several times to finish your posts before you click submit. Half of the information doesn't cut it. You liked it, critics hated it. Ok. We have that established. What fucking movie was it? We are lacking that. If this was a video game we were talking about here and I said "There is one game I really like but I don't think anyone else here would like it because of what it is." Would that seem like a well thought out reply? Would you be able to gauge whether you would like the game or not without knowing what game it is? TL/DR - Finish your god damn posts people.
