  1. I’m switching tactics to trying to buy a PS5 at a local grocery store. Anyone had any luck with this sort of thing?
  2. What are some things video game bosses do that drive you crazy? For me, it is in Bioware games when they periodically cannot be damaged and send in minions for a few minutes (not sure what that’s called).
  3. Has anyone found rapid shortcuts through quests you don’t like? For example, I discovered that I can run through Alduin’s Wall in Skyrim almost effortlessly if I approach from the river, curve up the mountain to the right, head inside, and bolt past the Forsworn to the puzzle room.
  4. We talked in another thread about how walking feels weirdly sluggish in video games. I've also noticed that some actions seem overly complex/slow/tedious in video games. Like ... if you had to go to the trouble of holding down a button and pulling a joystick to simulate opening a drawer, that would be weird and break immersion over just clicking (at least to me), even though clicking is less realistic. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  5. And also that sometimes what is driving you might be buried in your unconscious, and until you root it out, your ability to make choices is compromised.
  6. I am a big fan of this game, and it made me question my assumptions about how I think.
  7. This is how I feel with all third person games 😞
  8. I always wonder if it feels just as slow/tedious in VR.
  9. fucking wolves. They drive me crazy in RDR too. It took so long for me to figure out closing rifts was optional and that none of the random little side quests were going to add to the lore. I think it will go better on my next playthrough, as I will just skip most of that stuff to keep the pace/flow of the game more enjoyable.
  10. Rofl. I guess third-person FPS is a bit of a contradiction in terms.
  11. Thanks! 🙂
  12. Thanks! And I love that you say "aye."
  13. Honestly even Paragon and Renegade responses seem like variations on a theme to me. But I have a very minimalist concept of identity--like I only define myself by a few core traits, and the rest is just variable expressions. Like, identity = blocks in a kaleidoscope, and the patterns are just expressions. So that probably is why I see it differently.
  14. I am intrigued by a game called Spiritfarer, which I gather is a management-style game about ferrying souls to the afterlife. Has anyone played this game, and if so, what did you think of it? I’ve never gotten into these types of games, but the concept sounds unique.
  15. Weirdly enough, I can’t seem to find a thread on this. For those here who enjoy playing management and sim games, which are your favorites, and why?
  16. Have you ever pre-ordered a game for the extras that came with it? If so, which pre-order extras ended up being worth the higher price tag?
  17. Have you ever bought a game on the day it launched (or pre-ordered it so you would get it then)? What compelled you to pay full price and get it right away, especially if you usually wait to purchase games?
  18. I feel like Skyrim did things right with respect to offering first and third person perspectives and easy toggling between them. Why isn’t this a feature with more games?
  19. In games like Skyrim and Oblivion, I am totally hooked on summoning—not just to help with combat, but because I like having these transitory extra companions tagging along (whom I conveniently don’t have to keep track of). Who else loves summoning?
  20. What are some moments in games you were blithely following a quest, only to be mortified later at what you had done? In this category, Birth of the Conservation Movement from RDR Undead Nightmare springs to mind.
  21. In another thread, @killamch89 mentioned Cyberpunk 2077's source code being stolen, compromising security with respect to related downloads. Has this happened to any other games?
  22. My friend told me about some game her sister played that involves dating pigeons, which according to her sister is supposedly really good. Who else has heard of some totally bizarre games that are supposed to be good?
  23. There are always going to be controversial games that some people feel are over the line. For my part, aside from content that promotes hate (in a way that is a short step to inciting violence), I don’t much care what shows up in games. What about you? Are there any games out there that you feel should not be allowed to exist?
  24. What types of annoyances cause you to need to step away from a given game for a few days, weeks, or even months before coming back to it?
