Back then in my time, we call it Konami cup in PES, we choose our respective teams or club, then head over to battle one another randomly via group matches then we head over to robin format. It used to be cool then, that's one of the coolest way to entertain ourselves as kids.

We played the Konami cup too, after choosing your team the system randomly shuffles which team would compete against each other.

The prices included more respect and pride among the peer and you would always be allowed to play first with no regards to who was already holding the controller. Lol

That's cool to hear, I knew the moment you won him, enough joy was by your side? You reminded of a dude that didn't manage a single victory from me in over 2-3 years playing PES games, I know this sounds opposite from your experience but that's game for us.

In your case you were the deserving champion but in mine I was only trying hard to break the record of the dude.

I succeeded that one time and afterwards it felt like the curse was broken and every other player started recording wins against him. Lol I literally broke the losers curse😁

Monetization spoiled everything for us when it comes to online activities. If not for the monetary reward set aside for esports players they wouldn't bring the act of cheating to bypass the system and get their reward. Due process should be applied and deal with anyone that falls prey of the ethics of esports events.

I think this is just like every other competitive activity like the champions league, world cup , Olympics and so on where money or other Prices is awarded to the deserving winners.

Cheating is one vice that had been displayed in various levels in politics and even In School examination.

If we could work on our values and try to avoid doing the wrong things because of our personal gains not minding who is hurt in the process we would do just fine.

It's all good, bro; I'm not entirely attuned with legal matters either (which is why I'm trying to study them). But once again, what you were referencing earlier was more like a character defamation case, and how much "public view" something had is undeniably factored into a lawsuit in that regard.

How can you know this much and still say you ain't well attuned with legal matters. 😅🥴

Well, I got enough point to be able to argue extensively with a friend mine who is a practicing lawyer and we've had a similar discussion in the past, though I wouldnt be able to quote the constitution  accurately but I would quote you instead. Lol

  5. That's a big no for me, when I started out with cod it was just because I enjoyed first person shooter games so much.

The multiplayer mode was just an avenue for me to compete with other players and try out my hands, I was active for about two weeks and only got 31 overall kills, I then focused more on the single player campaign.

  6. Cheating in an active e-sports competition with a price attached to it takes away the real purpose why the competition was initiated In the first place.

I have noticed cheating in various E-sports MMO'S and it's basically for less competitive gaming , I haven't been in any e-sports competition with a price attached to it but I learnt a lot about the legal tendencies in another thread about e-sports here.

One of my friends thinks he's one of the best players around. I believe he could compete in gaming tournaments and esport events. I've played against him a lot in the past. To be fair he killed me a lot, but we'd always find a way to get him back in game anyway. So maybe he's not a pro at all, and is mostly just good.

Which of the e-sports games is his stronghold and I would mention someone who could compete with him and beat him to the game.

I know the current best players in COD and league of legends.

  8. We had these mini tournaments on PES where a group of my friends come together and play soccer Games.

You just have to pick a team of your choice we make the settings and the system set the fixture anybody that loses is out and the next set  plays and so on until there are only two standing champions to compete for the trophy and whosoever wins that match takes the price.

It was so much fun at the time and since we were so young Winning meant the world to us.

Why would you forget it, it comes like you won a trophy in real life playing professional football when the onus is low on your side to make it. When I won someone that thought me how to play PES 7-1, I felt like I'm in cislunar, it was the first time I defeated him in a PES match.

That's true man, and you actually understood what I felt winning that dude, I was a lot younger at the time and we were always playing this tournaments and for once I was able to come out victorious.

I actually avoided playing with that guy for a few weeks so he doesn't take back the championship but when we met after that it was a draw match.

All due respect; that is not true. I study law, and the context in which you could sue someone (in relationship to the above scenario where your team mates rigged a tournament), it has nothing to do with whether or not there is a large public interest in any particular event. People sue others in small claims court when the public doesn't know about it all the time, so one of the players that was potentially victimized in a rigged tournament could relentlessly sue others -- especially in a situation where the tournament jackpot (not just the "prize pool") involved him or her possibly winning something like $18 million dollars in a perfectly legal and legitimate way by victory in tournament. There also happens to be a massive interest in tournaments these days, but that really wouldn't be a factor at all in terms of lawsuits, unless it involved stuff like character defamation, libel, slander, etcetera, I guess. Perhaps that's what information you looked up, was information on character defamation laws? That would be correct if that's what you looked up.

Like if one of your e-sports team mates was going around (in a theoretical situation, I am intending to stay on topic) and saying that the other team mate is doing something very terrible on a regular basis, or that they have done something very terrible or whatever (pick a number out of a hat). If the first person starts saying stuff to like 1 single person about e-sports person 2, then the "damages" of the case would be minimal and potentially dismissed from a court of law because there was not enough public view of the false information that was spread. Basically the Judge or Jury would look at the case as whether or not the persons reputation was even affected by the spread of false information (slander/liber/whatever), and people that are youtubers/twitch streamers, etcetera are pretty easy to snag on stuff like this if they go on terrible rants regarding other people. Most streamers are actually pretty solid with this type of thing and they just do their thing and jump off. Talking trash about someone they're playing online is not slander, as that is 1st Amendment/opinion/Freedom of Speech (at least in America), and I don't think I've ever seen a streamer (outside of 1 or 2 instances) where they were going on a significant rant about literally anyone else.

So a civil suit would apply in the "rigged tournament" scenario mentioned above provided the two people were in the United States (I haven't gotten to foreign law/international court study yet), but criminal charges are all over the place in this stuff involving e-sports fraud. Other countries have literally arrested and charged cheat makers in some cases and there was a really big name (that I personally didn't follow because he was one of those "LEAKERS") that got identified past his pseudonym and pursued legally by Nintendo. I say good for Nintendo and they should keep it up. What crimes are involved in the rigging of tournaments, however, is stuff that could involve a wide plethora of crimes.

Sorry about my earlier input but I was only commenting based on my misinterpretation of what you intially commented about the issue.

I am not well attuned with legal matters and thankful to be able to learn a thing or two from what you've said.

Attracting large public Interests doesn't really count and a case in court could go in favor or against you with or without them.

    Samus in Metroid Dread

I was about to make a comment on Samus before seeing the comments @Shagger made.

Well samus  doesn't really need to be voiced and I see that as a true reflection of who she is, been in isolation for such a long time as other metroid dread games revealed and isolation would actually have an effect on someone and how much they talk.

And besides there are times when Samus makes a statement and when she does you know it's for a worthy reason.

Imo that character is actually okay and enjoyable Just the way it is programmed.

Oh wow, I can't believe I missed this post. I had no idea Statham was doing voice acting work in video games. Then again, I never played the first game. I started on the 2nd game I believe.

Yeah he did, I brought it up because I felt he did pretty well with COD and he been completely original without trying to sound like or act like someone else.

If you watch a lot of Jason Statham movies you would appreciate his originality and how he portrayed himself in that video game.

If you like what you see and it has open your eyes then you should get the game and play it, make your own review 🙂

I have to but I already have a few games I haven't completed yet and getting forbidden west would mean it would have to stay unplayed for a couple of Weeks. So that's the reason for my hesitations.

I hate it that I don't have enough time as I did in the past.

If people are dead set on gaming only being for kids, I want to meet the parents who would let their 7 year old play RDR2, so I can slap the shit out of them. The language, violence, sexual content, and alcohol/drug use is really something I would consider to not be lessons for a child of that age. I haven't played it, but I would assume GTA5 would be in that same boat. Then there are horror games. A child would be so freaked out that they would sleep between their parents for 3 months before going back to their own room. Especially with the more intense horror games.

Games are rated for a reason. And many are geared towards adults. Because (typically) we are able to see the difference between the real world, and games. While some a re a real world representation, they're still games.

If you have such an issue with gaming, then stick to Candy Land.

If you allow your kids gain access to such contents and then turn around to blame the industry for your failures as a parent.

There are different genres of video games and each of them has an age appropriate audience it is meant for, I can't let an 8 year old child play dying light 2 , GTA or games of that sort.

They deserve that slap if they do let their kids play such video games.

Take a look at this video and see the state at which this 12 year old boy's parents failed to do their job and that left the boy in his difficult situation right now.

They will always blames but have the power of prevent such from happening but they let it happen.

A child can pick up bad habits from their parents and the things the see or hear them do and that's how it is for virtually everything, this kids aren't dumb they observe and learn.

If you allow your kid get access to whatever they like without you first scrutinizing it to check if it is appropriate for them then come back to blame the industry for your irresponsibility then that's absurd.

My nephew loves video games though he is just 8 years old and whenever they want to get him a new video game his parent always ask for my advice since they know little about it ,so I just recommend a video game that is appropriate for a child his age and that solves all the drama afterwards.

Makes me wonder does anybody remember the game Africa on ps3 where you have to photgraph animals? They should make something like this but with a national park setting instead.

In the past when I was more interested in learning about a video games , it mechanics , plot and durability than actually playing them, I often take about two or three games and make some research about them.

I could remember coming across this video game and its name caught my attention and decided to learn about it.

Honestly the game can be boring to those who are in the need of more action but if you love nature and outdoor activities and you want to experience it via a video game then Afrika is a suitable option though not the best.

I like the idea and I would like a Simulator made with this same idea to make the experience somewhat realistic and maybe played on VR.

I won't lie, I wouldn't be at all surprised if most contributions there were simply for points or post-count farming. The amount of names listed without further comment is staggering, but I imagine when that thread reaches its maximum post count (do they on this forum?) there can be rules for a future one. For the time being it's harmless.

Interesting but I can't actually know why people keep switching between  games but for me I play a video game based on my mood and what I feel would be convenient for my state of mind.

There are different kind of video gamers which in my own terms I call:

    1. The religious gamers who play a particular game judiciously until completion before moving on to the next. And

    2. Casual gamers who just gets a bunch of games that feels interesting and play them simultaneously or interchangeably without bothering about which comes first.

I hope this helps to clarify a little more why some people are found joggling between games.

  18. You didn't make reference to any game in particular so I don't really understand what you mean by silent protagonist.

Some bosses or opponents in quite a good number of games like God of war don't talk only making grunts and noises, protagonists in human characters might make a few interactions with you and even some zombies you encounter in dying light don't make any conversations only coming at you pretty fast to devour you.
